Still in shock at the terrible experience I've had with not 1 but 3 dental hygienists at this particular practice. Initially, I was so excited to have a dentist (Dr. Conte) who appeared to have unmatched expertise. With so many people in the industry looking to find problems that donāt exist Dr. Conte was a stand out when I first came to the practice years ago. He was great but the staff is unskilled and impersonal in my opinion. The 1st hygienist acted like he was a dentist and tried to pull my fillings out which were fine btw. The 2nd hygienist who is out on maternity leave was so rough my mouth was bleeding for days. And the most recent hygienist takes the cake⦠the one with hair all over her shirt, but I thought let's not judge a book by its cover when in fact I should have. At first, I thought I would only have to turn my head towards her for the first few minutes of my cleaning ā¦..HOWEVER SHE MADE ME TURN MY NECK TO THE RIGHT FOR OVER 2O MINUTES TO ACCOMMODATE HER. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE. If you have back problems that is not the responsibility of the patient. My neck is still in pain today. And when I took a break to adjust, she acted like I inconvenienced her. After she completed my cleaning, I was in so much pain I went back inside to ask for a numbing mouthwash and a few hours later noticed a bruise on my gums. My gums were burning for hours after. And why wasn't I offered shades I had to ask and then she had the nerve to say if I wanted smaller ones I should bring them. Maāam if you are going to shine a bright light in someone's face for 25 to 30 minutes you should be prepared. It's called office supplies. I'm not sure if this was subtle abuse, but it danced on the line. I've never been to a dentist that doesn't check in after cleaning? Granted I did decline the x-rays but only because she was being so inconsiderate, and my mouth was already in pain. I guess the hygienist decides whether the dentist needs to evaluate you for cavities or any changes.... Maybe he just doesn't care anymore since he seems to be semi-retired. Find somewhere else. I don't trust this place anymore, and I've been driving from Atlanta since I moved away, but it seems the quality of care just isn't what it used...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI fail to see the "excellence" in Dental Excellence. I am appalled by my experience at Dental Excellence of Brandon today (5/28/2024). I went in for an extraction of a broken tooth, which went fine. But little did I know that the doctor had damaged my crowned tooth in front of the extraction site and caused some of the porcelain to chip off. Now I have exposed metal when I smile! Yes, I signed a consent form (as we sign consent forms for everything now days) , but the odds of something happening is rare, especially under the care of an experienced and trusted doctor. I've had plenty of dental work done, including other extractions unfortunately and NEVER had a dentist been so negligent that they chipped another tooth! This mistake is clearly visible and makes me feel even more ashamed of the smile I now have. I put off dental work for years because I was so ashamed of the condition of my mouth. I finally take steps to start my dental journey and this is what happens. As a busy stay at home mom of 5 who just had a baby~ a baby who requires surgery and removal of one of the lobes in his lungs soon, I am disgusted! There is nothing they can do for me, not even temporarily fill it or bond it to help me feel better about my smile in the mean time. Instead they want me to pay more to replace the crown like I'm drowning in cash or something. It's just disappointing for a 4.9 star office. Picture shows the aftermath of my tooth that was fine before the procedure. Procede...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo this is an update to my previous post. I just saw Dr. Conte today 4/24/24. I had a crown and root canal done in 2018. Recently had severe pain in that tooth and Dr Conte examined it and referred me to a specialist. After trying to be charge over 3k from specialist. I asked Michelle if the crown can be removed and xray or examine tooth to see what is causing pain. Dr. Conte came in room and stated that he would have to charge me again for services. He used the analogy of when you buy a car 5 or 6 years later you will need to pay for repairs. SMH...... I think teeth and tires are 2 totally different things. Dr. Conte got up and just left the room. Didn't say thank you, hi, bye, or nothing. This will be the last time we visit his practice. I feel bad that Michelle had to be in middle of his unprofessional actions. Needless to say the referrals stop now. We where treated like family from day 1. But I guess just like family things can change quickly. Sad to say that things revolve around $$ but it is apparent that Dr. Conte is focused on that instead of taking care of his patients after care. We wish blessings on the staff. You guys still rock. Take care and God Bless
THIS WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A DENTAL PROFESSIONAL. FROM WHEN WE WALKED IN THE DOOR. THE STAFF AND DR. CONTE ARE THE BEST IN THE WORLD. WE HAVE REFERRED ALL OF OUR...
