I stopped in for the iPad trade in since I couldn't get any answers online. Apparently, the staples trade in site isn't secure, chrome and safari encouraged me not to visit it. I asked for an eval to understand how much, if anything I can get for my trade in. Without being greeted, I was directed back to the register and to leave my iPad on the counter. The cashier wasn't sure what to do, so she radioed back to the girl that directed me to the register. She asked if I was recycling, I said no I wanted to see how much I can get on a trade in. She was radioed back to put in recycling so I can get the receipt. They are about 15 feet apart, by the way. I walk back to the other counter, my iPad is gone and so is the employee. Now I have to get her attention since she's still not greeted me or asked a single question. She was surprised when I said I was there for a trade in offer for some reason, as I merely repeated what I had said when I came in. She went and took a long look at the computer in the back. Finally, she came back and took a recycling sticker off and handed back my iPad saying it has no trade in value. At that time, I informed her I already had a trade in offer from apple directly for $160. So yes, it does have trade in value. $160 to be exact. I had to ask for the case which she had to go retrieve from the trash. The one upside to this, she paid so little attention to me or my iPad, that she didn't think to remove the tempered glass screen protector since it's in perfect condition. Here's why I write this review. 1) Greet your customers, acknowledge why they came in and affirm you understand what they're looking for, especially for high value items. Consumers have a LOT of other options. 2) Ask even just 1 qualifying question if you're not sure. 3) I don't care that staples isn't offering me any trade in value. It could be stated something like this. "Unfortunately at this time we don't offer any trade in value for this particular device, is there anything else I can try to assist with while you're here?" Instead of there's no value for this and handing it back to me, minus the case. No apology for the mistake or absolutely terrible service and lack of respect for me or my device. If this was handled differently, I could have walked out (iPad in hand with no trade in value) and still left a 5 star review. Lastly, train your employees on new programs, otherwise this is what happens. I no longer have a need for any of staples services...
Read moreI stopped by the Branford, CT Staples on 11/23/24 at 12:10p to have 2 signs I had printed with Fastsigns trimmed for my poster box at the Copy/Sign Center.
Since Staples makes signs, I thought they would be able to manage this task. I explained that I would like the top and bottom equally trimmed so that lettering remains centered. I needed a total of 3/4" cut, 0.375" from the top and the same from the bottom. I also asked for under 1/4" trimmed from each side. I also provided a template from a sign that I had and said I wanted it to be the same size. I explained that these signs are expensive and to be extra careful.
You can see what I got back after the trim and the original proof for comparison. The signs are ruined! The advisor apologized and said she wouldn't charge me. Not much else I could have said or done. If this was a job the advisor wasn't comfortable with or this isn't something they normally do, then they shouldn't have started it.
I am furious and am trying to see if I can get this situation corrected and the signs reprinted. Not happy!
*Edit: A representative from Staples kindly reached out and rectified the situation by refunding the cost of the signs. Much...
Read moreI get a lot of things printed at their copy center and today, it ultimately ended up being fine, but just a strange thing happened that seems to happen a lot especially here in Connecticut.
I sent two separate print jobs one 11x17 and one 81/2x11 and when I arrived they were all printed on 11x17 and I said "oh this one is supposed to be 81/2 by 11..." and immediately the clerk snaps at me and says no they were all 11x17 on the order form.
This is a recurring problem here in Connecticut especially the clerk or the cashier or the fast food worker messes up and when it's pointed out to them they immediately snap at the customer and blame them and accuse them of doing something wrong without any information whatsoever.
This weird entitled attitude of all employees everywhere lately anyone that's ever corrected them is somehow an oppressor and affecting them and they need a safe space now because a client got on their case is just insane.
Anyway like I said this staples attendant ultimately fixed the problem and was perfectly nice about it it's just a weird thing that's not specific to the staples but seems to be a general issue in all...
