This was a last-minute dinner decision to stop here for food. We wanted to sit outside & the sign on the front door clearly stated to go inside if you wanted to be seated outside. We walked inside and up to the hostess, a young woman who clearly did not want to communicate, and waited a few minutes for her to acknowledge us - after she was done wiping down menus and putting them away. Once she did, we said we wanted to sit outside & she told us to sit wherever. So we went back outside & waited at a table for about 5 minutes, wondering if we would ever get menus. The same hostess finally came out with napkins and plastic utensils, dropped 2 5" paper plates on the table & some menus, then sprinted back inside like she was being chased.
We chose what we wanted, then waited again until our server came out with plastic cups of warm water. She said, "I'm sorry, they didn't tell me I had a table out here." She gave us the water & asked what we wanted to drink. I ordered a soda & my husband asked if they had a specific beer. The server said they did not have it but said she would go ask the bartender what was the most similar. About 5 minutes later, the server came back and asked, "How is everything?" Did she mean the warm water she gave us? Because we didn't have anything else. She must have figured out her error because she commented, "Oh, you only have water so far" and left. About 5 minutes later she came back & said "I'm sorry, the bartender was busy & I had to wait for her. The bartender says the closest beer is a Corona." We both laughed because this was not even close to what was asked for, & chose a different beer instead.
We ordered our meals & waited. About 3 minutes after placing the order, the server came back again and asked how everything was. At this point, we had 2 half-cups of warm water, a diet Coke and a Red Stripe. So what did she really want us to say? She left some extra napkins, and then a few minutes later came back again, and then took the 2 paper plates that seemed to serve no purpose and arranged one in front of each of us. What was this for? Were they not going to bring our food out on plates already? When the food came out, we moved the empty paper plates we had been given, and she gave us our meals. She walked away to check in on the table next to us, and within 30 seconds she was back again asking how everything was. Neither of us had even taken our first bite yet.
This repetitive process went on for the next 30 minutes while we ate. She checked in on us an obnoxious 8 times during our entire time there, to the point where we couldn't even finish a conversation because she interrupted so often. And everytime she came over, she always began with an apology and an excuse about why someone else was hindering her from doing a more efficient job. It was ridiculous.
As far as the food, my burger was covered in so much BBQ sauce I couldn't even taste the burger itself. This made the bun soggy and nearly impossible to hold. Thankfully, we were given those extra napkins. I literally used almost an entire napkin after each bite due to the amount of sauce. I get it - The Bar Burger comes with BBQ sauce - but really? It felt like an entire 16 ounce jar was dumped all over the burger.
When we were done with our meals and waiting for the check, for once, the server was nowhere to be found. We sat there for 20 minutes. No food. No drink. Even the warm water was gone at this point. Finally she came over and put the check down, then noticed the credit card in my husband's hand, "Oh, did you want me to just take that now?" YES PLEASE. Listen...I get that she was probably just trying to be 'attentive' or whatever but it was so overkill that it was off-putting, and honestly will drive me from going back there. If we ever do find ourselves there again, we will make sure not to sit in her section. And I will make sure not to order the Bar Burger again (or maybe ask for the BBQ sauce on the...
Read moreSO glad I finally got there. Took my parents for my dad's birthday we had the best waitress in the world! I had the blackened chicken sandwich that came with fries, my mom's a vegetarian and she got the Asian chicken salad but with an impossible burger and they did not charge extra for that. My dad got the Asian chicken salad with chicken. They also ordered green bean fries as an appetizer. I also ordered 3 items to bring home. 14pc Thai Chili wings & Greek salad with chicken I didn't even ask them to put the chicken on the side and they did! Wings were absolutely delicious & the sauce used was delicious I've had it before it's old in the supermarket by Frank's who makes the red-hot they make a Thai chili sauce if it's not the same is extremely close. I only tried to Wings when I got home and haven't tried the salad yet. My parents love their salad we went at 4:30 on a Friday there were a few tables outside in the courtyard with people and maybe two tables inside the restaurant being used. But by the time we left the place is definitely filling up. I will definitely be going there again to eat there as well as order takeout. Also the woman was so sweet she said to me can I bring him a dessert for his birthday, will he eat at? And I said he loves ice cream! She asked about putting chocolate syrup on it & I said pass he's trying to watch his way lol they put a little whipped cream & some candles we didn't do the big singing thing but I said you guys do it to me all the time as well as my sister & so now it's your turn. The bill was about $110 for all of that food & gave her a nice tip since it is her second job and she's helping her two kids through college. I've been trying to get there for this past year but I've always been outvoted by the rest of the family but now my parents loved it and cannot wait to go back and or get take up such a huge menu front and back plus they have a special menu everyday. Upscale bar food everything was delicious nothing was very greasy or anything at all. Finally try it out I don't even know if they have a dessert menu but Ashley's ice cream is it far away if you want...
Read moreWent there tonight with my girlfriend, We got pulled pork nachos with jalapeños to start, and for entrees a Buffalo chicken wrap and a jalapeños cheese burger which were all delicious and flavorful. Towards the end we got a shot of Jagermeister and Jack daniels. When I received the shot of Jack I could tell just by looking at it that something else I assumed was soda was put in there, because of the bubbles that were covering the top and the color was way too light. I asked the waitress what else was in the shot and that it tasted very watered down, she explained that the bartender may have chilled it and that's why it came out like that and she offered to get me another one. I asked for it not to be chilled and she said she would let the bartender know. When the new shot came out, it was almost the same thing, just less bubbles but was definitely watered down. I don't know if the bartender purposely watered it down, but if that isn't the case, then there is a big possibility that some of the bottles behind the bar are watered down before hand. Over all, food was great, service was excellent, food came on time, but I'm still left with the question about the...
