I would not recommend this bridal boutique.
I made an appointment two months prior, received the confirmation, filled out the form asking about what dresses I wanted to try on, and even called to confirm the appointment the morning of and let them know we would be a few minutes late due to traffic.
When I arrived no one was at the front desk and I wandered around the store hoping to find someone but didn't want to interrupt the two appointments that were in progress. Finally, after 10 minutes of no help, my mom interrupted a group and asked if someone could help us get checked in. We then learned they didn't have us in the system (which is very stressful as the bride who drove all the way up from San Diego with 5 guests). She said they had a cancellation and could still squeeze us in. (Still wondering if I was the cancellation and they messed up)
Hope was assigned to us as our bridal assistant. She came out and asked what I was looking for and I told her of two dresses I knew I wanted to try on, but that I also came to try on the Jenny Yoo collection (all of this I had written in detail in my appointment booking). She went and pulled out some dresses and we got started.
I loved the first dress I tried on and after trying on a few more, Hope took the first couple I had tried on (and loved) back out to on the floor. This was really confusing because what if someone took that dress and I couldn't try it on again?
During the whole appointment, I felt a little rushed through each option and only got to try on two dresses by Jenny Yoo. I eventually decided to go back and try on the two that I liked best. I tried on the one I loved and then tried on the second and said "I think the other one was the one" and she said "Great, I'll package it up for you." I thought I would have been able to put it on once more and get some photos of me "saying yes to the dress" in the actual dress I wanted. My whole bridal party was really confused when I came back out in my normal clothes and they were expecting to see the final pick. It's a big moment to find your wedding dress and I feel like it was really wrong to not give someone the space to celebrate that.
When I checked out, no one asked if I wanted to try on veils and buy a veil. No one tried to sell me any jewelry. And then they even asked for a tip? Is that a normal thing for a bridal shop? My whole group thought that was strange.
It was an okay experience but not one I would recommend to anyone else. I've gone to other bridal shops where the assistants just really feel like they're listening to you, are patient, and make it a fun experience. My mom has never gone wedding dress shopping before (she sewed her own dress and I'm her only daughter) and she was so excited to get to experience this and I think I feel more sad for her because I feel like she was robbed of some of...
Read moreOkay, Styled by TC was by FAR my absolute favorite bridal store.
The first one I went to was David’s Bridal. The employees were nice but seemed inexperienced. The dresses were not up to date with the current styles — the selection was, for a lack of better terms, “meh”.
The second one was The Dresser Bridal. The girl who helped us was incredibly aggressive with how much she disliked my friends and sister browsing the dresses. The aura she emitted was very much a “Hey, this is my job, I know what I’m doing. Please stop and let me do my job.” Another party came in for their appointment and I noticed that their party was offered champagne and mine was not. The dress selection was much better than David’s Bridal and I had high hopes for The Dresser Bridal.
The third was Styled by TC. As soon as I walked in, I was in awe of the decorations and overwhelmed by the amount of money and effort that was put into making this place look and feel beautiful. I was greeted and asked to browse while waiting for my stylist — Kricket. Kricket was by FAR the most experienced stylist I’ve interacted with. She was incredibly honest, forthcoming, and helpful without being rude or disrespectful towards what I liked — making sure to ask what I thought and asking if I was comfortable enough to hear pieces of advice from her. Kricket immediately offered us champagne and was just all around a DELIGHT. This is an experienced, seasoned stylist and I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Kricket.
After going to BHLDN for the fourth time dress shopping, I came back to Styled by TC. I initially had scheduled an appointment for Styled by TC for 11:30AM and one for The Dresser Bridal for 2:00PM. However, after much help from friends, family, and Kricket, I didn’t need to go to my second appointment. PLEASE give this place a try, it will be an AMAZING...
Read moreI was waiting until I picked up my dress to write an honest review….. I scheduled an appointment to find my wedding dress with my mom, best friend, cousin, & aunt. When we walked in a very nice stylist welcomed us and told us to hold tight for a couple minutes because they were setting up the fitting room. I assumed that she was going to help us, but was very disappointed to be passed off to Krickit Jones, another stylist who right off the bat was not nearly as friendly as the first woman. I told her what I was looking for & showed her what kind of dress I was liking, but was nervous as this was my first ever bridal appointment. She still was very cold and just said ok and gathered some dresses. Everything felt extremely awkward especially when I didn’t like a dress right off the bat because she just seemed so annoyed. I was getting the impression that she thought she was the hottest thing to grace my presence because as she bragged a few times that she “graduated from FIDM, a fashion school” which was HILARIOUS because I too graduated from there and went on to be a designer at many well known brands in NYC. But I’m not one to brag about any of it because in reality the fashion industry is garbage. Anyways, I lightly mentioned that I also went to FIDM and was a designer and only then did she start to be less cold and more friendly and even went as far to say that “we are kindred spirits”. I did end up finding my dress, but I wasn’t in love with it and I plan on redesigning the top bodice because I really couldn’t fathom going through another round of anything like this appointment again. I think the bridal shop is beyond gorgeous, loved the selections, but really truly hated my experience. If you get Krickit as your stylist don’t let her bully you or maybe just ask for a different stylist. Good luck...
