Read moreI have been donating here for years. Pretty much since they opened. When they first opened this place was horrible. The staff took being ghetto to the next level. They would always be understaffed, thus the wait was unbearable. They would get an attitude with you for asking them to change thier gloves, and then defer you for a week as punishment for asking.
The last straw for me was when I went to donate, I was screened and the girl pricked my finger and refused to give me a bandaid. I had to find the number to thier corporate offices on my own because the manager gave me a bogus one. I called and complained and stopped going for a while.
Let me say the turn around here is amazing. I feel like my complaints was heard because now there is new managers. Now when there is a line, it moves at a steady pace beacuse of proper saffing. Now I dont have any issues with any of the staff becaue they are professional. Now I dont have any issues with getting a bandaid after they prick my skin to extract my blood from my finger, so I dont walk around with an open wound. This is one of the best turn arounds I have seen any business make from a customer service point of view.
The one and only reason I did not give 5 stars because of their changing glooves policy. Their rule is you have to ask them to change thier gloves. I do not fault any of the staff, becasue if you ask them they will. Nevertheless it is awkard. I have donated at other plasma centers and they change thier gloves evertime they touch a new person. I know it's annoying to them, but that is what comes with the job. At CSL they dont require this becasue is it not Illinois or federal law. I was told this by the old managers and the corporate rep I spoke with. They will walk up and down the isle sticking and unplging person after person, then wait till they at the end to change their gloves. It got to a point where I dont even bother to ask anymore to avoid the awkard situation. I just wish they would adopt 'New Person New Gloves' policy, just as a courtesy towards everybodys safty.
Other than that this place is great and if you sombody who wants to save money this is a great way to not touch your money in your bank account. Its not much, but it...
Read moreIf I can give a zero star I would I went for my first donation. The nurse stuck me wrong as a natural reaction. I jumped and moved her arm away from me. The lady said that she felt threatened, which she shouldn’t have considering I reassured her that it was fine. I even have cleaned up my own blood. I never got escorted out of the premises. I thought everything was fine. They told me that my next donation, which was. two days from February 14 I ended up going back on the 19th because I wanted the bruising on my arm to heal. Once I went back I was notified by the manager that the lady said that she felt threatened and she put me on the do not register list for that location only but once I went to another location in Calumet Park, I was told due to the comments that the manager put on my fail I’m unable to donate period I ask if I can get a copy of the video for my own proof and I was refuse. I was told that I don’t have a lawyer, which is not any of you guys business, but it is a defamation of character. I called the corporate office they said that they didn’t want to lose me as a donor, but they refuse to help me with...
