Shiny Nails and Spa — Local services in Rich Township

If I could give them 0 stars I would. Eric (the owner of the shop) is rude. He argued with me about the way my nails were done. Kim( his wife, the person that I usually let do my nails) wasn’t there so I decided to try someone else in the shop BIGGEST MISTAKE!! The only reason I was still a customer at this shop was because of his wife, Kim. But after today and seeing how rude Eric is and how poor his customer service is I will not be back. I have seen him argue with so many other customers and it left me with an unpleasant taste for the shop. I just never thought that after being such a loyal customer since they’re grand opening that I would be treated like this. I got a full set and told the guy that he did not level my nails the right way after he applied the acrylic . He simply just applied the acrylic and didn’t go over it with a drill. He just started painting my nails. And Eric argued with me about it instead of just making sure it was done the correct way. Within the next 24-27 hours after getting my nails done a full set at that; one of my nails broke!!!. I have never had this issue when Kim does my nails or when my nails are done properly by anyone in the shop at that. Even Eric has done my nails before and I never had any issues with my nails breaking within a short period of time. I understand everyone doesn’t know how to do acrylic, so I wasn’t rude about it. I just wanted them to fix it. The man was clearly new I had never seen him in the shop before. But I never thought that I would express my concerns as a costumer and be treating how I was....

Pros - LEE (the best tech), Quiet, Close to my home

Cons - Rude owner (Eric) - doesn’t like to be corrected, doesn’t like suggestions, has no respect for people, will talk about his customers in their face in his native language with no remorse and in a patronizing tone, his techs are limited in skill, (We miss Henry), his wife Kim is okay but he’s very controlling and doesn’t allow everyone to go to her, he doesn’t treat everyone the same, very sensitive but lacks compassion for his young customers and their concerns, inconsistent service, basic services cost more than the average, not enough variety, using a card is a price difference as well, no specials, long waits because Lee is the only person worth waiting for, and i’ve been a customer for OVER a year....he has no intentions to change or correct any of these issues. In fact he sees ALL of these reviews and talks about them in the shop as if he doesn’t care and finds them amusing. This owner is ruthless and must be stopped. I’ve confronted him many times about speaking of me in a different language, while he’s actually doing my nails, and he just continues to do so, as I’m unable to defend myself. His demeanor changes when I walk in the door, and it’s not just something he does with me. As I quote “I really don’t care, they can go somewhere else if they don’t like it, they still...

The only reason I'm giving them 1 star is because of Lee. Eric is horrible owner. His philosophy is if you're not happy go somewhere else. Every single time that I get my nails done they last maybe a day or two then the start chipping and peeling starts. My daughter has the same issue too. Only when Lee does our nails they last. But I think Eric puts pressure on Lee to move faster, so now even his quality has diminished a bit. Instead of working with his people to teach them better application, he chastises the patrons. I will not let Linda touch my nails. She slaps on the no chip polish so thick it runs over and forms an odd shaped nail. Eric himself does a great job for the most part as well as his wife, but his attitude sucks. I'm done! As I'm looking at my less than 8 day no chip that's now lifting again... I'm done! When I first started coming here 2 years ago, they were great. But this last year since Henry left has been the worst. Don't go here and spend your money.. There are much better places....Eric said so himself! I've noticed the last two Saturdays that I've been there it has been really light. Guess other folks are staying...
