I attended Blinn College years ago and am just now writing this review because of a conversation with a friend. I attended college full time my first go around and had to work 3 jobs at one point just to pay for my books, car, fuel, classes, etc. My parents could not help my very much with school expenses ($500) was about it. I applied for government help but could not receive it because my father made barley just enough for me not to get full help. I made decent grades and worked very hard, but it wasn’t enough. I attended classes at the Brenham and Schulenburg campus. I know nothing in this world is perfect but when you grow up poor and try and put yourself through college and you encounter teachers who want to talk about there theory on God in geology class or your math teacher talks about his personal life most of the time, or your yoga teacher fails you for being at the finals early at an off site gym and there is a note on the door saying class is rescheduled for next week ( note that was for another class and did not make that clear) she fail me and my friend when we had an A. Sorry for the run on sentences, but I have to also add the A&P teacher having to give 30-40 grade curves the whole semester because he would teach what was in his slide shows and then pull exams (he did NOT make, and didn’t match what we went over) from a random site on the internet. We had an EMT in the class who had a very hard time as well because of this nonsense. Also had a medical terminology teacher pushing political views! Overall I had a very mixed matched experience, some horrible teachers and some great ones, but when you are pushing so hard to barley get by, those bad ones can really hurt you so that’s why I would never recommend this college to anyone. If you have to go here just make sure you do your research...
Read moreBlinn College is the worst college I have ever had the displeasure of enduring. Every semester for the past two years, my wife has all of her classes dropped because her financial aid came through Texas A&M. We would talk to countless people telling us to talk to other people, all of which are absolutely unhelpful. It wasn't until we emailed them about the absolute lack of communication and how this has been the case for the 2 months we were in contact with them that they are able to get anything done (they finally had a receipt of malpractice), and by that time add/drop has passed and my wife didn't have the classes she needs. If it weren't for the professors helping her out by forcing her into their class, she wouldn't have the credits she has now. Every representative at the Tejas center in Blinn Bryan is unhelpful, telling you to talk to someone else who tells them to go back to whoever you talked to previously. I parked on campus in the visitors parking for 5 minutes to pick up my wife and was given a parking citation because "I need to buy a visitor's parking pass at the Tejas Center." This is not explained to me in any way, whereas all other spots explain to you that they are pay by space. Furthermore, I cannot appeal the ticket because I am a visitor and I do not have a Blinn ID. Overall, this college is poorly managed. I would recommend Lone Star Campus if you wouldn't mind living...
Read moreBlinn is a horrible school they don’t give students any chances let alone the professors don’t look at their emails for when students have Covid and can’t show up so the class gets dropped and a bill is added. Also I don’t know why we can’t use the laundry room that we pay for, if y’all want it cleaned so badly then make the janitors work extra not just one day out the month because if yall are going to shut down the laundry room you might as well shut down the school how all the roaches & floors be looking. Blinn is money hungry and won’t let kids get their education you might as well send your child to another school bc this communication college is very overpriced and want all your money as soon as your settled and comfortable. $3000 for 2 classes is...
