This place offers a daily lunch special which comes out in minutes. We ordered off the menu and was told they didn't have fried chicken because they used all their chicken for the baked chicken lunch special. I therefore ordered the fried pork chop from the menu because I wasn't interested in eating the overcooked vegetables I had seen other people eating. It came with french fries. I asked for them to be extra crispy and my husband ordered a patty melt with fries. We waited well over 20 minutes while an entire restaurant was served and when we had to hunt someone down to get our food we were told it was our fault because we ordered off the menu. Santa Fe has been one of my long time favorites in Brenham, I am really picky about where I go out to eat having been a restaurant manager for some time, however I recommend this place over any place in Brenham, TX. The taste of a home cooked lunch is mmm so goood, but the burgers are my new addiction. The chicken fried steak and salad are to die for. The thing that makes this place so awesome is the friendly, fast service. They do not take credit card so bring cash. One time someone forgot to put gravy in my to go order and the person who forgot was so nice she called my job and apologized and the next time I went in my lunch was free for ME!! Second time to eat here. Food is delicious, plenty of it, and at a very affordable price. I had the chicken strips and they were the best I have had at any restaurant! Noon is super busy so come early if you can't wait. Cash only. The wait staff you can tell know most of their customers as they call them by name! Even being super busy I still received fast friendly service. This is my new favorite for Brenham. They are only open for breakfast and lunch.
