Called with questions regarding an afternoon with my child making pottery and the woman I spoke with was extremely rude, vague, disrespectful and presumptuous regarding our religion. We will not be doing business there now or ever.
Reply: It appears you need to rehire some honest employees because that is not at all how our conversation went. After she did state the prices, I asked about paying for a month and she continued to state, more than once, “it would be cutting it close” I told her I didn’t understand if I was paying for a month on Dec first why that would be cutting it close for the month. That’s when she repeated it yet again and I had to tell her straightforward I had no idea what she meant by that please rephrase. She then was presumptuous(not asking at all what it was for) and said “It would be cutting it close to get it done for Christmas presents”. That’s when I responded that “Not everyone celebrates Christmas (not stating if we ourselves do or do not) and that that was not the reason we wanted to come to your studio. She then snapped back “Well it doesn’t help that it sounds like you’re under water and can barely make out heads or tails what you’re saying”. That’s when I apologized that I didn’t realize she couldn’t hear me well and said she should have said so. She scoffed at me and that’s when I told her we would think about pottery another time and place. She said “Ok then” and actually hung up first! I would have loved to have taken my child to your studio but the behavior of your employee had me think otherwise and thought you should be aware. I realized this isn’t a reflection on you personally but you should know the individuals you hire to represent you and your business should do it justice and in my own personal experience today this individual did not represent your business in a...

Read moreSince moving to the Bangor area, the Creative Arts Center in Brewer has quickly become one of my absolute favorite places to spend time. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, especially considering the huge selection of pieces they have available to paint. Whether you’re a total beginner or more experienced, there’s truly something for everyone.
What really stands out is how passionate the staff is about making art accessible to all. They genuinely believe that creativity shouldn’t come with a high price tag, and it shows in everything they do—from the pricing to the welcoming atmosphere.
They’ve also helped me learn different painting techniques I never would have tried on my own. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and always willing to take the time to explain any step or process in detail. I’ve learned so much just by asking questions while I paint.
They also offer pottery making (I believe the proper term is wheel throwing and hand-building), again at a price that makes it easy for anyone to try. It’s such a fun, relaxing experience and another reason I keep coming back.
If you’re looking for a creative, affordable, and welcoming place to unwind and make something beautiful, the Creative Arts Center is a must-visit. I’m so...
