Wow! What an unexpected, amazing experience. Bob, one of the owners, was extraordinary. He worked with us regarding our stay as we almost had to cancel due to weather conditions. We were able to make it just fine and were greeted at the inn personally by Bob. He got us set up in our room, and since it was late and we hadn’t eaten, he was kind enough to drive us to his restaurant down the road. He showed us around and got us seated. We felt like royalty. The inn and restaurant were all within walking distance of downtown Bangor, so we easily walked back after our night out. The actual stay at the inn was comfortable and quiet. It’s an absolutely beautiful house with all the amenities you would need. Breakfast was served in the morning with coffee and delicious baked goods from the family’s own bakery. We actually got to meet and chat with the father of the owner at breakfast, and he was an absolute gem. The entire family seems so lovely. The whole experience was quite magical, and we hope to return in the future!

This is one of the best hotels where I had ever stayed in. It is an old historic building with some few rooms. Everything was perfect: the room, the private bathroom, the ammenities, the light breakfast and the service. Bob and Will were very friendly. Bob gave me a lot of information and took care of every detail during my stay. You can use the kitchen, the dinning room and the living room whenever you want. All the rooms were very well equipped. Also, the location was perfect. I really enjoyed my stay here. Just keep in mine that the breakfast is a light meal, it is not a buffet or continental breakfast (but it is delicious !)

The proprietors of this B&B have done a phenomenal job of restoring this old house. They also own the restaurant next to the house. We ate there also. Tasty, excellent service, but pricey. Our room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was kinda a letdown (small plate of fruit and a biscuit), so you may want to bring your own. They DID, however, accommodate someone in our party who eats only gluten-free bread. I sincerely hope the area around them improves.

My husband & I enjoyed a fabulous stay over the July 4th long weekend at the Tarratine Inn. We enjoyed 2 of the suites during our stay - The Chase-Smith Suite & the Burgess Suite. The innkeepers Bob & Tricia were most accommodating & gracious. The Inn itself & the rooms are beautifully restored & appointed with everything you need (very comfortable beds & the King in the Chase-Smith suite is adjustable too!) to enjoy a comfortable, relaxing visit. Good coffee, pastries & fresh fruit were laid out for us each morning:). The Inn is nestled in the heart of quiet neighbourhood surrounded by beautiful old mansions & is proximal to the downtown Bangor area which itself is a time capsule of sorts being full of impressive historic buildings! In the evenings we enjoyed wonderful craft cocktails on the rooftop bar of the Tarratine Restaurant, overlooking the city of Bangor & beyond to the Longfellow Mountains. Afterwards we immersed ourselves in the warm historic ambiance of the highly touted (& rightly so) Tarratine Restaurant where we enjoyed every last morsel of our wonderfully delicious meals (some of the best food we've enjoyed anywhere:) The Tarratine is on our short list of favourite places - we'll be back...

If you ever find yourself traveling through Bangor, Maine the only place to stay is the beautiful Tarratine Inn. The owners, Bob and Tricia, have taken such care in meticulously restoring this beautiful home and decorating it with lovely furnishings. My husband and I stayed in the large Chase Smith Room, 2A which provided a living room, separate bedroom and awesome bathroom (love the original brick wall) and if you know what I mean, actually has soft toilet paper and soft bath towels. There are several smaller rooms available in this awesome house decorated with the same thoughtfulness and care. In the morning, waiting for us in the downstairs dining room, was coffee and a danish. It’s not a Continental or full breakfast but delicious and thoughtful just the same. Their restaurant next door is not open Sunday, Monday or Tuesday but Bob recommended the Timber Kitchen & Bar a short 10 minute drive which did not disappoint. We highly recommend the Tarratine Inn and thank Bob & Tricia for allowing us to have such a wonderful experience in this...
