I've been coming here since they opened business. Never really had a bad experience before. I tried to make an appointment early in the morning to get my haircut before my wedding. I didn't want to get caught up waiting in line and was willing to come in early. I figured being a long time customer they'd at least hear me out. So I gave them a call explaining my situation to one of the workers. They told me to hold on and reiterated what I said to the owner. Next thing I know I hear the owner yelling "No, no, no" in a very annoyed manner. Then he just hangs up the phone on me. I was completely astounded, to think they couldn't even have a conversation or kindly decline my request. Absolutely the most unprofessional experience I've ever had with a business. I ended up going elsewhere and it will stay that way.
Adding this edit to make sure there is no confusion I DID NOT call the wrong barber shop I'm very familiar with this establishment and have been here multiple times before this incident.
Another edit since the owner still seems to misunderstand what I'm saying. I've been to this establishment multiple times even first thing in the morning. I had a wedding the next day and considering I've seen customers there before opening hours before I didn't want to have to wait behind them. I just wanted to work something out as I've been a LONG STANDING customer. I'm aware this is a walk in establishment but as I said I've seen people there before opening hours. Maybe some customers get special privileges? I didn't even care if you just said sorry we can't do that. No, instead you hung up the phone in my face. Which you magically seem to be forgetting since you asked if I called the wrong store. Really makes you wonder if customer service is the highest priority. 🤔 As I said a simple "I'm sorry we can't do that" or a "I understand but I stand by my first come first serve policy so try to show up early and I'll get you in" either of those would have been the professional thing to do but you didn't even have the courtesy to do that. Now you can either keep arguing with me in the reviews or you can learn from this and treat future customers more kindly so you don't lose there business as well. ...
Read moreI have been driving past this place for awhile now, but never gave the place a second thought until recently. I have recently become legal guardian for my grandson and I needed to find a place to have his hair cut. Marv's was actually the first place to pop into my head because I remembered the art work of Marvin the Martian in the window. So I drove to the establishment, but they were closed. I was met by Marvin himself and he explained why they were closed and told me when to come back. So the next day I took my grandson to get his hair cut and upon entrance I was impressed with the décor of the place and how we were greeted and made to feel welcome. I liked the art work and the courtesy from the staff. The place is very clean, which I like. The choice of jazz music creates a relaxing atmosphere. I love Marvin's upbeat and positive attitude. I haven't sat in a barbers chair in over 30 years due to me being bald, and I groom my own beard, but I let Marvin talk me into getting my beard done and I am glad that I did. Great Job! My grandson loves his hair cut too! Marv's has definitely made me and my grandson...
Read moreI went here on 6/26 for a haircut. When you first come in the owner will engage you quickly, and he has a very approachable personality.
There are no appointments at this shop, so you have to go in person to “reserve” a spot. To do this, you will leave a name and number, and they will call you when it’s time for your haircut - this is convenient for those who don’t have time to sit around for a long wait. My personal experience with this system was that someone said they were my name, so I never received a call; however, I walked to the shop, and the owner noticed the mistake. He was cordial about it, and he personally gave me a haircut. I would leave a distinguishable nickname instead of your real name to make it easier.
The shop is cash only, but the owner might be changing that eventually to increase convenience for his customers.
Overall, I would give this place 5 stars. The owner has an amazing personality and cares about each customer, it’s fairly priced, they will recognize mistakes, and give you a great haircut. This is one of the best barber...
