Lotus Garden Restaurant — Restaurant in Plainville

Stopped in to our local Lotus Garden today for the first time. After reading many reviews on both Google and Facebook. I will start with placing my order The woman that answered the phone was upbeat and very friendly. I ordered wonton egg drop soup and 2 eggs rolls. She confirmed my order and said it would be ready in 10 minutes. I arrived just before lunch rush on a Friday. I was greeted as soon as I walked in the door with hellos and smiles! My order was ready and hott when I arrived. The man behind the counter was extremely friendly and the lady that took my order earlier was so friendly and cleaning. The restaurant is spotless! Nice, clean, and greeted with a fish tank at the door also very clean and pleasant to watch all the fish swimming about! I took my order and the man asked me If I would like utensils and showed where to get the sauces and that area was also super clean and well stocked! Everyone was so nice and when I was walking out the door one of the regulars was saying this is the only place she will eat for Chinese food. I tend to agree! Upon walking outside I looked over to the side of the building also very clean! Very pleasant experience so far! As soon as I walked in my front door I realized how fresh everything smelled. The order was perfect! Everything was hot fresh and so tasty. This is the only place I will go for my egg rolls. Great size, fresh, and not too greasy. The wonton egg drop soup was superb 👌 again fresh and hott. So good! Napkins, and spoon were included as well as fresh fried wonton sticks. The overall experience was very impressive and made my day from start to finish! The cooks in the back were in a clean environment and the food showed that! The size portion was excellent at a pt of soup. Egg rolls great size. Price point surprised me at only $8 for my order and the order was correct! Very reasonably priced menu! food was wonderful with a family experience from beginning to end! I highly recommend this place! I really can not find a flaw at all. I will say I need to point out what I noticed the most! Hard workers, superclean, fresh food, and friendly. I see 5 stars here. I have yet to rate any restaurant at 5 stars in over 10 years! So stop in to our local Lotus Garden! Very pleasant experience. I am looking forward until I can enjoy another meal from them! A huge thank you to everyone at Lotus Garden! See...

I would leave a better review if .... they didn't rush you on the phone when you are placing an order I understand they are busy but I before living in this area lived in north haven and went to the most amazing Chinese place sing hee. It was always incredibly busy much more so then lotus garden . They always were kind and polite and patient on the phone while taking your order they didn't have that cocky attitude like we have enough business hurry up. Lotus garden is ran by a woman who has almost a mob boss attitude. The food is not consistent sometimes is great sometimes they ignore your request for added items to your meal or subtracted items. And other times the food seems like it's a day old literally the noodles look like they have sat because they are so soaked up with water they are twice the size then normal . Important information is usually not received because they rush you off the phone it's like pulling teeth to get the price of your order or time of delivery they literally do not want to give you that information and I dont get why that's usually always given by any restaurant when placing a order for delivery . Waited 1.5 hrs for latest delivery no one mentioned that they were busy today would of been nice to know considering that my kids were very hungry at the time I ordered the food my wife had to leave for class and didn't even get to eat she will have to eat her dinner at 10pm very unprofessional of them to not let us know highly disappointed and will definitely be trying another Chinese restaurant I've given them many chances I've tipped very well sometimes 20$ for a 30$ order yes I'm generous and therefore I do my part do yours I'm respectful I call knowing what I want I pay cash I order frequently I tip well I'm a great customer this was not good business and this is one to many times I've had bad service...

I placed a very simple order of Chicken fingers w/ Pork fried Rice, shrimp roll, and a quart of shrimp Fried Rice. When I picked up my order, it was surprisingly expensive. I doubled checked the bag and there was a bunch of food I didn't order. They claimed I ordered "A Combo". I simply just said I didn't and the lady just snapped. Forcefully grabbing the food out of my bag and she just tossed me a dollar. I was definitely over charged $10! I decided that the argument just wasn't worth my time and walked out. But wait, this gets better. On the way out a lady got out of her car noticing I was shaking my head. Apparently the same food they were trying to add to my order, they did the same to hers. Coincidence? I can't say I've experienced much of anything like this before.

As far as the food. I had to toss out the egg roll as it tasted like hand soap. The shrimp fried rice was just meh. The rice was pretty dry and the shrimp was slimy. The shrimp should've been cooked a bit longer. My kids loved the chicken fingers. All in all, this place is pretty shady and I would highly recommend that you stay away. I'm just happy I decided to pickup my order instead of sending out...
