Roma Pizza and Deli — Restaurant in Plainville

Went in wanting to support a local business before heading out if town for the day. These people are not wearing gloves to prepare food, and during covid no one was wearing masks, and the little children were in and out of the kitchen. When I realized there were no gloves being used, I didn't feel right giving my child the salad he ordered, and said I needed to return it. Feeling unduly embarrassed I quietly told the woman I needed to return it. When she asked why I told her I've been watching, trying to deal with no one wearing masks, but now I also notice no one wearing gloves and see how the produce is being handled and I can't in good conscience feed this to my son especially during these times. That woman then violently snatched the to go container and my debit card from my hand, actually pulling at my fingers! I said "whoa, I'm going to have to record til I can leave with my card". She angrily proceeds behind the counter with my card to make the return and simultaneously picks up the phone, I'm presuming to call to assist with the return. Nope! This crazy nutjob after a minute of ranting (idk what she was saying, I'm busy trying to stay calm and figure out how to start a video quickly), indicates she's calling police because I said I wanted to record! Wow! She knew her temper, and was afraid I'd already caught it on video so she has to hype it up that I had done something wrong. Then husband comes, eventually listened to me, says he's concern I'm making a video to ruin the business for 5 dollars. Um no, the video is to potentially protect myself from this violent lunatic who yanked at me just because I timidly stated I no longer wanted the food, food that the Ct Department of Public Health would advise against! As I'm telling him, and he's realizing police were called he puts on a mask. He wants to know about the video, I told him it was of the floor but I'm capturing the audio. I ended up changing the screen and lost it anyway but that seemed to satisfy him and gave me back my card. Wow, the craziness! Has no one ever returned an item before!? Are they not required to wear gloves when preparing fresh foods, at least wash hands after touching other foods, the refrigerator, and trays before handling a produce, cutting it, then holding it in their hands as they place each cut piece into a container? I witnessed all of this, it turned my stomach! They quickly need a Surprise health department review and be shut down if they cannot comply before they make...

If I had a option to put no star I wouldn't at all after they way I was treated today.

I went in today and ordered 2 slices of pepperoni and my order came out to $4.57 because I was using debit he said I would have to make my order a total of $5.00 understandable so he charged me 80 cent for potato chips. After I swiped my card I sat down to wait for my order. I then saw the potato chip rack so I got back up to pick out my chips and as I got closer I noticed it was only the bootleg version of lays potato chips, so I simply asked if there was any other kinda chips they carry hell im paying 80cent for a 25 cent bag. The wife walk out with a small child and says very very rudely and loud " That is the only kind we have if you don't like don't get them" So I proceed to look around to see who the hell she was talking to and I turned and said to her " please watch how u talk to me" she begin yelling and screaming while her child was right there something she must do all the time cause the child act as if the yelling was normal for him which is sad. Her husband came out and begin to yell at her and she kept running her mouth at this point I told her she needs help and lmore classes on how to run a restaurant . she then went in the back as she was still yelling. at this point I didn't want my food so I asked for a refund . I said a few more things to her then she FAKED CALLED THE COPS ON ME AS IF I WASNT GONNA WAIT, WAITED FOR Almost 30 min in driveway no cops never showed lol.. This is no way to treat a costumer I clearly asked a simple question and it resulted in that. Might I add im 8 months pregnant and was very hungry. An child protected services need to be...

If I could give zero stars I would!! The owner is God awful... whether you pick up or get delivery - nasty and rude! Had a pizza delivered after not using them for a while bc the last time they screwed up the pizza - needless to say ordered a pie - it came under cooked and cold! Mind you we're in Bristol But did you can't deliver to An address and get it there at least warm maybe lessen your delivery area! It was not piled with toppings - one topping! I will never order again! They are a small business and small businesses should appreciate local business... I'll go elsewhere goi g...
