Review - Trainer (Will Speights)
I had been consistent, through the years, with little to no real attention to my overall physical fitness. Exercise was sporadic with no intensity or focus. My dietary intake was even worse. I made a decision to start paying more attention to my physical fitness. I knew that joining yet another national fitness chain was not going to be beneficial, at this stage, because I quit so many times before. I also knew that I needed to possibly train within an environment that might better complement my current mindset. Fast forward to the initial assessment - it was pulverizing, difficult and I could barely complete it. While getting recommendations for personal trainers and gyms, I was skeptical and slightly apprehensive, because of my personality DOES NOT VIBE, AT ALL, with a trainer who is impatient and/or aggressive or a gym environment that is toxic. I knew I needed accountability but with someone who’d be attentive, professional and patient. It was then, Will S. was assigned to me as my personal trainer in October 2023. Since then, he has been patient, attentive, professional and good-humored, even when I complain. I am down FOUR pants (waist) sizes and have every intention of continuing with him on my fitness journey. It isn’t easy but WILL IS THE REAL DEAL - let him help you, too.

Read moreWent to visit this gym with my family who were members. We were told by one of the staff that they don’t allow guests, but that he should be able to make something work. All 3 of us started our workouts to then 15 minutes later after already starting our routines to be told to wait at the front because the owner doesn’t allow guests or single day passes. To allow all of us to start our workouts and then have us ripped off machines in the middle of our workout after already starting is insane. My family immediately canceled their memberships. Even after offering money for a day pass, they weren’t interested. Then when we talked to Brandon, he said he doesn’t offer day passes cause he doesn’t want the gym to get too full. The gym was at 5% occupancy when we were there. Well buddy, you are nailing it! Memberships canceled 🙌
I was gonna post a story on my Instagram @BryanHawnArtist and tag the gym but I guess having over 1 million followers see your business would be terrible since you don’t want it to...
Read moreI debated posting this review because candidly I like to gatekeep the gems I find, but discovering Grind Heart has been one of my 2024 blessings. Having recently moved to the area from NYC, it had been a struggle finding a suitable gym given the numerous options I had available to me in NY. Having trained for years at my neighborhood Equinox in addition to a boutique gym, I wanted to find a place that had both high quality equipment and Trainers, but also a community feel, like-minded clientele, and generally just a good vibe. Enter Grind Heart: Everything I had in NY, but without any of the pretentiousness. The space itself is both aesthetically pleasing and pristine, and when I went for an initial tour I met with CJ who was disarming & attentive, and really listened to what my fitness goals were in order to match me with the perfect Trainer. After my first session, I knew this was my spot. It’s been a few months now; I love it here and look forward to continuing my Grind Heart...
