I visited this location for the first time last night around 8pm. I patiently for my food at the bar. When my food arrived I opened my bag that was stapled to make sure my order was correct, while checking my food I ate a fry and bit my burger. The brown skin guy with dyed hair yelled out " you can't eat at the bar" . I asked if he could come over so i didn't have to yell back and . when he got over I asked him why can't I eat at the bar. He stated "you can sit at a table" of course I can,but explain to me why is it a problem for me to eat 1 fry and bite my burger which I already paid for before receiving my order. He stated " I work here " I then explained to him that, that's still not a valid answer especially if there isn't a sign that states it. He then pointed at the sign outdoors and said "its a sign outside" but again that says to go orders. This time it was about 8:30ish and they closed at 9pm because it was a day before Thanksgiving. I said to him the sign out door clearly doesn't states DONT SIT AT THE BAR.I asked for the manager and she came out to explain " it's a verbal thing we say to customers" I suggested to her to have a clear sign and she said "it's a sanitary thing we do here also". Cool, I stated i frequent decatur location and always sit at the bar but at this point,I asked for my money back.she grabbed my food to look in the bag. Yep its all there! I didn't feel welcomed and will not return to this location. If it's a sanitary thing then why didn't anyone have on gloves or a hair net while handling food? why was she back in forth from the restroom to the kitchen with her hair swinging all over the place including in the kitchen (the manager) . Why did the black guy at the bar Who yelled pants were sagging with his underwear stuck in his butt crack? Why didn't anyone sanitaze the area as i waited, as i saw plenty ubereats drivers contaminate the area? Why didnt the cashier have on any gloves nor a hairnet? Cashier was nice upon me ordering. The staff here isn't that polite and definitely wasn't sanitary...
Read moreTonight we experienced the worst service we’ve had in a while upon deciding to dine at this Brookhaven Grindhouse location. We attempted to use the Grindhouse app to make an evening to go order at this location since we were nearby. However our attempt to order online was unsuccessful. Since we were already practically down the street, we entered the lobby to place our order instead. Upon informing the staff that our attempt to order online failed multiple times, we were informed that the app and online ordering platform was down. The cashier then proceeded to take our order and even took our payment never informing us that the kitchen had already shut down earlier than the closing time. We waited patiently in the lobby (a family of 5) for over thirty minutes until the entire restaurant was empty. When we asked about the status of our order we were informed that our order had gotten lost in the shuffle of them shutting down the kitchen and that it would be 15 to 20 more minutes before our order would be ready. While we were patient with these circumstances, the thing that was most troubling is that the staff seemed very unapologetic about our order getting lost in their process. Specifically the manager seemed to suggest that it was our fault for coming into their restaurant late in the evening. To the contrary, had they been transparent and let us know that they were shutting everything down prior to closing time, we could have chosen a different place to dine. Their blatant lack of appreciation for our patronage was even more apparent when an employee came and turned off the television that we were watching while we waited another 15-20 minutes on our food once they informed us of their error. Only a faint apology was provided by the gentleman who handed us our food. The manager made no such apology or accommodating gestures. I am highly disappointed with the lack of customer service exhibited at this location and will not return...
Read moreWow. Where do I begin? I guess with the positive-the food was great. Awesome flavor, warm, well-cooked… now, the bad. I went to the upstairs bar around 9pm on a Friday. To be fair, it looked like the staff was just finishing up a rush. That’s normally not a big deal. I’m somewhat understanding of this situation since I’ve worked in many restaurants. I expected the bartenders to need a short rest/respite, but what I was not expecting was what my party received. I ordered a milkshake and received it, but didn’t get offered a water or another drink for the entirety of my dining experience. Another person in my party ordered a beer and did not receive it until after our food was served AND he had to ask again. Anytime we asked for something, it was like pulling teeth with the bartenders. We were seated right by the p.o.s. kiosk, so it took literal effort to ignore our hand signals/looks to try to get service. I don’t know. I’m at a loss. Normally, I’m the guy that’s super low profile-I’ll bus my own table, not ask for off menu things, and tip decently. This experience was awful. If I were the owner or manager of this establishment, I would be upset reading this review. My aim is to raise awareness. All that being said, the food is great. If you are on the fence about eating here, give it a shot. I wouldn’t go upstairs to the bar area if I...
