I’ve been delaying writing a review for a few weeks now. Primarily because I didn’t want to write another generic “this place is great “ review. I wanted to give the reader some good information so that you can decide for yourself if this is the place for you.
I’ve been coming to Pathways now for about four months. I originally came because of issues with “tennis elbow”. It had been plaguing me for a while and had finally decided to do something about it. I booked online which is easy and my preferred way of doing things.
I was a bit surprised when I arrived at the appointed time that this is actually Dave’s home. He was warm and inviting when he answered the door. We spent about 15 minutes going over what my problem was and talking about his approach.
Before I go into that let me jump ahead a bit and say that The type of massage you get here isn’t a “feel good” relaxing type of massage. Dave specializes in Orthopedic issues and the work he does is actually painful. Not so painful that it is unbearable but he is working on problem areas so it isn’t a walk in the park. I knew that going in so it wasn’t a surprise to me. Dave frequently asks about the level of discomfort you are experiencing and he moderates his pressure so as to not overwhelm you. Now back to the review.
Dave’s method is to relax the central nervous system first then to work towards the area you are having a problem with. He follows the muscles and connective tissue relaxing it along the way to your trouble spots. When you think about it, this makes perfect sense as any issues leading down to where you think the problem is will only make your problems come back quicker. This works so well that he fixed my tennis elbow in one visit though this is probably a bit unusual. I also didn’t wait long before seeking help so that probably played a factor too.
Now I see Dave more for general wellness than specific issues. As he works through various muscle groups we find places that are all tied up and as he works them loose I feel so much better. I used to see a chiropractor but now that I see Dave, I don’t need to. With the muscles in my back being loosened, I get the same benefit and the results last twice as long as a visit to a chiropractor.
If you need the intense therapy of a orthopedic massage therapist, you won’t...
Read moreI first met David 4.5 months ago. I had a bad case of plantar fasciitis and was facing a 2nd shoulder surgery. I have also been dealing with chronic pain for over 10 years that the doctors believed to be nerve damage, possibly from neck surgery I had just before the pain began. I didn’t want to have surgery again, nor did I like the treatment option they were offering for my nerve damage. I began to look for alternative, more natural options. After doing some research I stumbled upon the benefits of muscular massage therapy and myofascial release. I felt that it made sense to try this since I had already tried everything else. Upon meeting David 4.5 months ago, I immediately felt at ease. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable in the human anatomy. He took time to listen and heard my concerns. Together we developed a long-term plan. He uses many different techniques to get the job done. This therapy is not enjoyable, it’s work but, the end-result is worth it! I feel I have about 90% use of my shoulder again and have avoided surgery. The other areas he worked are much better too. I highly recommend David to help you get back on the right path so you can return to your normal...
Read moreI've been regularly visiting David with Pathways Massage and Muscular Therapy since February and can honestly say this has been one of the best decisions I've made. Two years ago I started going to the gym but noticed I just didn't have the flexibility or stamina I once had. After just a few visits with David I began noticing great improvements in my flexibility, range of motion, and stamina. I definitely recommend scheduling a visit to see David at Pathways Massage and Muscular Therapy if you're wanting to get your physical life back on track and/or you just want to feel great again.
UPDATE 09/30/19: Just want to give an update to my physical progress after seeing David with Pathways Massage for almost two years now...I'll keep it short... This has been one of the BEST decisions I've made! David knows his stuff when it comes to finding the kinks in my body and he definitely knows just how to work those kinks out. Anyone needing a deep tissue massage or muscular therapy should make an appointment today and take advantage of David's expertise and services...and then stick with him! I'm on a monthly maintenance program now and find myself counting the days until my...
