The best skincare in the US - no kidding. I have been to the best skin care in NYC - Bliss, Georgette Klinger, Ettia, Mario Badescu, Aveda, Christine Valmy etc etc we all know there are amazing spas in New York- but if i'd known about Violet all those years ago I'd have taken the bus up to Boston instead. Now as I get older, the right products make a huge difference. Recently I'd run out of what i knew i should be using (thanks to Violet's explanations, she always gives so much information) and my skin, although it was still clear, wasn't as soft and elastic as usual. I have very sensitive skin so I wasn't using bad products, but I could tell I really needed a facial-- but these days with covid-related staffing shortages, who has the time between work and everything else?
Finally last week it was now or never. It's been over 6 months and I couldn't stand it. I went online to book a facial at Violet Skin Boutique and also bought a bunch of products that I'd run out of. I haven't even gotten to the appointment yet - it's not until next week - and just after using them for 1 night my skin changed to its soft elastic texture immediately. Several days later, I realized when I see myself in the mirror at work I look younger - and couldn't figure out what it was, was it what i was eating? But I'm eating the same as I was last week! Just now I realized the one thing I'm doing differently is, I'm using the right face products like Violet told me to do!! Duh!!
I had forgotten how Violet's cleansers, oils and moisturizers, they make me look like I just had a facial all by themselves. Now, I know Violet will notice that I wasn't taking the best care of my skin and not using the masks often enough but no one else does! Someone just told me 2 days ago that my skin looks amazing!! Now I see why they said that -- Violet's are just the best, purest...
Read moreI was charged $100 extra for my first visit, even though they said they would charge me half-price for my first visit. When I asked the secretary to change this at the register, she said ' I cannot' which makes no sense because voiding transactions is a simple and common practice for all legitimate vendors. Moreover, they insisted I walk out in the street with a very visible cleanser on my face though I asked them politely to wipe it off so I did not have to draw attention to myself with white war paint on my face. They seemed more upset that I asked to wipe it off than being reasonable and wiping it off or giving me the option to put it on at home.
I went again, to give them a second chance. The intention was for them to charge me what they originally were supposed to (even though realistically they were getting closer to $100+ more dollars out of me). The aesthetician charged me $10 extra for a treatment that I did not agree to pay. And did so sneakily since it was only $10 and they figured I would not contest.
During my treatment, some blood was drawn, and the technician said something like ' I hope you got yourself checked at the hospital' to suggest I might have had a disease, though she insisted on not using gloves to conduct the treatment.
Overall, very unprofessional place. Pretentious, cold reception, and over priced items cloaked with the banner of 'organic'. Trust me, there is an alternative to ALL their product offerings on Amazon for significantly cheaper and...
Read moreAs a mother daughter treat, we went to Violet Skin Boutique on 9/24/18. My daughter had chosen the place based on the mostly good reviews and had booked a blackhead removal treatment for herself, and for me just a reviving one as I was flying in from LA that morning after a week long busy trip. During my daughters treatment she felt it was a bit rough and could tell the woman (the owner we were told) was using her fingers to squeeze out the blackheads, she questioned but was told it would be ok. I had the same sensation of nails on my face but being exhausted from travel, ended up sleeping pretty much through the whole thing. When we left the salon we could see that there were bumps all over my daughters face and she was concerned but we thought that might just be because of the nature of the treatment. Next day it was worse and over the course of the next couple of days in fact her face broke out badly. We called the day after treatment to explain, expecting to be given some advice, called back in for a soothing treatment or something but after being asked for her phone number and being told they would call her straight back, we never heard from the salon again. Both of us had better skin when we walked in than when we walked out. Based on my experience, I do not...
