My mother passed one June 22, 2022. And went to cedar hill since we had plots, made the appointment to go in to make all of the arrangements. The day of the appointment 20 minutes before the time we get a call from the receptionist about rescheduling our appointment and we still show up bc we were told they need 48hrs to dig the hole. We we got there my father , sister and I were told that there was already someone in the plot even tho my pat had these plots for year. The guy then told us we can temporarily put my mother in a different plots for the funeral then once they figure everything out they would mover her to the correct spot and have a private funeral just for us. Or the second option he gave us was again temporarily putting my mother in a mausoleum then again having a private funeral just for us. Which we shut down right away bc what family wants to be put through this twice. So the next day we go back in to talk to the lady who runs everything to come up with a different plan. So we agreed to do a double deep in the plots that we have left. So fast forward to the day of my mothers viewing. We are at the funeral home when the cemetery calls and wants to speak with us. In facts there wasn’t not a body in the plots but at rock even tho they lady insured us they tested every inch of the plot. So they want us to come in right away to sing the new paperwork even this they called the funeral home to speck with up and know the viewing is beginning. Now month later we are still having issues with getting responses out of them. We asked for copies of everything and weeks later finally for them and the information on the paperwork is incorrect. The top part say my mother is in lot 4 but then the bottom says she in lot 3 double deep. We also reached out to them about a grave marker and haven not heard anything back from them since...
Read moreMy father owns four lots in the front of this property He will only be buried in one lot What is he supposed to do with the remaining three when there is no other family to be placed in these lots How does people get rid of these lots sell these lots? I’ve called. I’ve inquired information these lots go for six to $7000 appreciate not looking for full prices of these things, but it’s virtually impossible to get rid of these things. I’m almost convinced that these big corporations the SCI they own the international that owns Service Corporation International ( these graveyards almost makes it virtually impossible to get rid of these lots Is this because the lots of eventually go back to the funeral home after a few generations goes by the lots don’t get occupied nor sold nor passed down correctly by deeds so can the funeral home resell the lots?...
Read moreI happened to be in the neighborhood and stopped by to see if I could find any information about a relative who died in 1915 and was thought to be buried in Cedar Hill. In the office I was greeted by David Richter who was very friendly and went through the cemetery records to find that yes, my relative was, in fact, buried in Cedar Hill in 1915. David copied all relevant records for me and when I thanked him and went to leave and fumble around the grounds looking for my great grandfather when David stopped me and told me that he would go out with me to help. With his encyclopedic knowledge of the grounds he found the most likely spot that my GGF was buried and pointed it out to me. I learned a lot about cemeteries in general and Cedar Hill in particular that afternoon thanks to David. Customer service...
