About 8 months ago I finally got the courage to ask my girlfriend to marry me! I had been in Forsythe Fine Jewelry on a couple occasions and loved the unique style and quality of many of the artists' work displayed there but particularly liked the work of the owner with raw stones. Even still, I didn't want to just BUY something already made for the woman I love! Fortunately, the annual gem and mineral show was going on in Buena Vista so I decided to take a chance... I picked out several raw emeralds and a perfect raw topaz and brought them to Forsythe Fine Jewelry. I went in and was met by the always friendly and helpful owner, Alexandra. I showed Alexandra the stones, gave her a VERY rough idea of what I wanted and she immediately pulled out several samples of gold band material for me to choose from one of which was perfect. I left her the stones and a deposit and anxiously waited but it didn't take long! After just a few days, Alexandra called me to say the ring was ready. When I met her later at her shop I was BEYOND satisfied with what she had put together; a 100% custom ring that I knew instantly was perfect for my future wife. Alexandra was extremely friendly and great in communication through the entire process, but most importantly, her work was PERFECT and her price was extremely reasonable. She highlighted the natural beauty of the stones in her unique style better than I could have ever hoped for (the prong setting of the clear topaz so the stone can be seen straight through is the absolute cherry on top). Only a true professional who cares deeply about their craft could make the perfect custom ring for my fiancé with such loose direction from me! I would highly recommend Forsythe Fine Jewelry for any of the wonderful work displayed in the shop and especially for...
Read moreThere is no other artist who I now trust with my jewelry. After almost 10 custom pieces now from Forsythe Fine Jewelry, Alexandra and her craft never cease to amaze! Her storefront is full of gorgeous jewelry and my first stop whenever I am looking for a special gift. With that said, I have been collecting jewelry for as long as I can remember, and it is definitely my favorite genre of art. I’d love to share one particularly special story. Alexandrite is my birthstone and I have been in awe of it my whole life. Difficult to find and not inexpensive, I was so lucky that my Dad found one set in a ring at an estate sale. Unfortunately, the ring was not my style. I had it for a couple years, not knowing what to do with it. As luck would have it, Alexandra Forsythe and I crossed paths a few years ago. After commissioning a couple of other amazing pieces from her, I knew she was the artist and jeweler for my Alexandrite ring! I had a vision, and one of my Grandmother’s diamonds that I wanted to incorporate. We also worked in a local aquamarine, as the 3 stones together include my family’s birthstones together. The entire process was seamless and I am absolutely ecstatic with the result! I truly can not say enough about Forsythe Fine Jewelry. The quality, care, craft(wo)manship (did I mention that it is woman owned and operated?)…...
Read moreJust wanted to update my review after getting a new ring and bracelet! I guess I you could say I like green - I am LOVING my new Emerald ring and Jade bracelet. The owner is very knowledgeable and attentive! Looking forward to my next trip to BV so I peruse her shop again. Thank you!!! —— I love this place. Always a pleasure to see what is being exhibited here. My favorite piece is a peridot ring I got from Alex, but I’ve had other pieces as well and loved them all. If you are anywhere near BV and have an eye for fine jewelry, I would highly recommend a visit...
