I visited this coffee shop for the first time today. The cafe was conveniently located in the center of Buena Vista town center, the outside of the cafe looked fairly nice (it would look better if they give the building a fresh coat of paint and clean the outside dining area thoroughly), there was adequate free parking nearby, no staff member greeted me upon entering the cafe, there was a limited amount of seating in the cafe, but I found a small table to sit at, no music was playing, the dining room was clean and neat, my table was clean and not sticky, the employee who took my order was fairly friendly, they had several danish/bread-type items available, a breakfast burrito (either with bacon, or without meat), their medium roast was delicious (especially with one of their many flavored syrups colorfully displayed above the counter on the wall), they had a nice size table on the side for customers with 3 kinds of "cream", stevia, forks, knives, stirrers, etc., and garbage can on the side of the table, there was good, free WiFi, the dining room had big windows to see out toward the beautiful mountains, and the restroom was clean and...
Read moreThis has been my favorite Coffee Shop in town, but the treatment we got from a skinny guy is unacceptable to me. He needs training on how to treat and accommodate their customers needs. They knew that their cafe was packed and people kept coming in with no place to sit. We were standing for about 10 mins waiting for a table. We decided to move the table that's by the entrance where every time the door opens, all you feel is the cold draft and snow coming in. Then a skinny guy approached us and asked us to move the table back where it used to be. I told him why we don't want to sit in that drafty spot and he just said something like "that's how it is" and turned his back on us. That is very rude of him to do that. Instead of asking people that are done with breakfast, and just visiting and talking, to make room for people that need a table, we are the ones he treated rudely. I used to own a restaurant and I own a lodge. I never treat my customers the way he treated us. I will never go back to this place neither will I recommend this to...
Read moreWe stopped in to grab something warm, as we'd been freezing since we left Leadville before dawn. I was instantly beside myself with joy when I spied the Morrocan. I mean cardamom, coriander, and ginger in a single cup, it's like the coffee shop tailored a drink just for me! Well almost, since if it was actually tailored for me it would include a full shot of honey too.
Raz went for the Honey Badger, due to the cayenne. He liked his drink quite a bit, though I did have to remind him that the first word in its name was Honey when he looked askance at the sweetness. The spice was right on, and it wasn't super sweet, just enough to offset the walk-across-the-counter-and-jump-into-the-glass-all-by-itself boldness of the coffee.
As for me, I know that next time I'm heading through Buena Vista, CO, I'm stopping in for another Morrocan, though I will definitely ask for a couple extra spoons of honey...
