A group of friends and I just finished our AIARE 1 course. We had Spencer as lead and Nick as support. They were both absolutely wonderful. So professional, so competent and knowledgeable in Back Country Safety and how to mitigate unnecessary avalanche danger when touring! Spencer was absolutely kind and supportive of my slightly less advanced technical skills and made doing new and scary things way less stressful for me. I would absolutely take more courses through Buena Vista Mountain adventures Thank you!!

Life Changing experience with BVMA. Before class I was nervous just talking about avalanche terrain, after the 3-day AIARE 1 course I am no longer afraid. I now know how to prepare, stay safe, and avoid dangerous terrain in the mtns.. Strongly suggest this course to anyone with my similar feelings and desires about exploring the backcountry safely. Tommy, Abe and the rest of the crew were top knoch. I'll be back continue my education with them...next Wilderness Medical Course.

Just finished a four day trip with Buena Vista Mountain Adventures. Chris put together an awesome custom agenda for our group to fit our needs. The guides are all extremely competent with safety at the forefront of their focus; I trust them completely to keep the group safe while adventuring in the mountains. Highly recommend Buena Vista Mountain Adventures!

We took our AIARE I course with BVMA. Tommy and John were our instructors and I really feel like they went above and beyond to deliver the course material in an effective way, encourage continued avalanche safety learning, and provide a safe experience. A few little things I noticed and very much appreciated were that they never rushed us, were approachable with questions, and even waited at the TH at the end of the day to make sure everyone's car started and got out safe. They also recommended some supplemental material and websites which I am excited to delve into. I was admittedly a little nervous going into the course, but their ability to slow things down and teach us to think objectively as a group before even entering backcountry territory really made for a successful learning experience. Thank...

Wow! If you want to get into the backcountry safely while having the best time with a guide that is fun to spend the day with and you'll learn a ton from, this is the place to go. Buena Vista Mountain Adventures is such an easy company to work with and their guides will absolutely make you feel taken care of. As a newer skier in the backcountry, I am very intimidated by being in avalanche terrain and my day out with these guys totally changed my perspective and made me realize that you can have a total blast without even going near consequential terrain. I felt comfortable asking tons of questions and our guide, Tommy, was super patient and accommodating to what we wanted to get out of our experience. I cannot wait to go back and do more Spring guided backcountry...

I traveled to Buena Vista this summer with the intent of adding to my list of 14ers climbed but also upping my wilderness navigation skills and ability to move up to Level 3 peaks. I spoke with Chris several weeks out. In that conversation I felt that he understood exactly what I was looking for and I appreciated his recommendations which I felt were spot on. I learned so much from Matt (Rock Skills) and Chris (Nav 101). Both made sure throughout the day that I was getting what I wanted/needed out of each day and it was clear they had solid expertise. They are experts in their field and great people, they inspire confidence and trust, and I plan to sign up for a back country or other trip...
