I stayed in the Throne Room at the Shorehouse in early October. The room is beautiful, well decorated, and very modern. The building and the flat have an industrial feel, which marries well with the interior design. The view is phenomenal from all rooms, with views of the Collegiate Peaks on one side of the flat and of the hill across the river on the other side. The layout is accommodating, particularly for a family or two couples. Both suites and both baths are large and inviting. The common area also had a very nice layout, with great finishes. The flat was very quiet during the day and night, which is great given its central location to the hustle and bustle of Main Street. The flat is adorned with product from local businesses, including the business that sits below the flat itself, and are available for purchase. We did not buy anything ourselves, but it was a nice touch in case you forgot something (toothbrush, socks, robe).
The dedicated parking was a bit confusing, as it looks like there are only three spots available for guests, while the other four spots are reserved for bank staff and customers. Ultimately, however, if the dedicated parking is full, there is ample street parking.
I have only one complaint--door locks to the flat and to balconies. The exterior doors can be entered with a code on a pin pad. To get into the flat itself, there is a second pin pad where you again enter the code. When we arrived, the three balcony doors were closed but unlocked and a window was left open. Most importantly, the door to the flat does not lock automatically. Once shut, the door stays unlocked until you enter the code again and hit the "lock" button if leaving the flat. You can also lock the door from the inside by turning a knob. However, regardless of whether you are inside or outside of the flat, you have to remember to manually lock the door even after it shuts. While this may be common for a standalone house, it is not common for a rental that looks and feels like a hotel.
When I brought this up to the hotel, the response was that Buena Vista is a very safe town, and not having to lock up is a part of the experience that's purely Buena Vista. It was clear that this was done by design. Ultimately, the flat was very nice and the stay went without incident. The owners certainly have done a nice job of highlighting a distinct design and the beautiful natural surroundings of the flat and the building. Buena Vista or not though, I'd prefer the certainty of locked doors before arriving and not worrying about whether I locked the doors when going out. Both of these could be...
Read moreOne of our favorite places we have ever stayed! We found Shorehouse last minute after our prior reservation had to cancel our room, and we are so lucky we did. Val and her team responded to our questions right away, and were even able to accommodate an early check in. The check in process was simple and easy. we accessed the building with a key code and then went right up the elevator to our suite. Key code entry into the suite was easy, and we were blown away when we opened the door. we stayed in the Daisy Chain suite and it was stunning. The attention to detail that the team at Shorehoues put into these rooms is incredible. Each room features a different Colorado artist and theme, Daisy Chain is a homage to disco. We loved the fun decor, but were even more impressed by the quality of everything. The room features health-focused and eco-friendly soaps, products, etc. We had so much fun just looking around at all of the apartment that we decided to grab takeout and a bottle of wine and stay there all day. The location is an easy walk to anything on Main Street, or a quick 10min walk down to the river. We HIGHLY recommend booking here and will definitely be back with our friends and family. Thank...
Read moreSuch a fun and fabulous time at The Shorehouse Hotel with my bestie. We stayed in the Daisy Chain room which was vibrant with color, and meticulously curated down to the last detail. When we arrived, we immediately put down our bags and went to the sequined dress and cowboy hat hanging on the wall. We had so much fun putting them on to send pics to our spouses…and the fun began! The bed was firm but comfy, rain shower head was magical, Nespresso machine was great for the next morning. We had a wonderful evening of bevies and bites at The Terrace on Main followed by dinner at The Surf with a riverside table. The next morning, we were back to the river with our journals and coffee followed by a delish breakfast at Cool River Cafe. Im local to BV, but don’t have a guestroom in my home and a client had gifted me a night’s stay. Such a great time with this staycation! I will be back and can’t wait to stay in the other two rooms/suite!
Thanks for great customer care leading up to the checkin and during and responding quickly to questions. The check-in process was easy and we loved that the room felt like a treasure hunt with so many playful,...
