Literally the slowest and most inefficient group of people behind a pharmacy counter in the state, and probably in the nation. During a worldwide pandemic, they have shut down both of their drive-through lanes and are forcing customers to enter the store to even speak with a pharmacist (I did try to call the location three times the previous day to deal with the issue over the phone; I was on hold for nearly 10 minutes for each call before the call disconnected. I called back to make certain it wasnāt a fluke ā it wasnāt.). So, here I am again today, waiting to speak to the pharmacist or pharmacy technician to determine if my insurance/prescription issues had been addressed. If it hasnāt, I will be told to sit and wait in the small waiting area for an additional 10-20 minutes before getting back in line, because even though Iām told they will call me when itās my turn, me and two other customers are in the Walgreens waiting area purgatory and have been going through this cycle for the last hour and a half.
I have never been met with such blatant disinterest in a personās finances and medical concerns IN MY LIFE ā and Iām a travel nurse who has worked in busy ERs all over the nation for the past 5 years of my 10 year nursing career.
BACK STORY: I picked up a prescription 4 days ago (which I depend on to function properly) and take THREE TIMES A DAY; I was not notified that only 30 of the 84 tablets were available on the day I picked it up and I only learned this when I got home (home away from home, an Airbnb) and opened up the prescription package ā my mistake, I suppose. They also had trouble processing my ACTIVE INSURANCE while I was at the store originally. This is the same insurance plan I have used extensively in many other states due to the nature of my job, so after 15 minutes of the pharmacy technician attempting to run it through the system, I said forget it ā I will pay out-of-pocket & deal with the money on the back end with the insurance company. From home, I have attempted to contact the pharmacy/pharmacist multiple times on two separate days this week to no avail. So, on my day off, I chose to spend it at the local 24-hour-pharmacy in the middle of a pandemic, since Iām not exposed to ill people enough during my time at work... After explaining my conundrum to multiple pharmacy technicians, I was told to have a seat and I would be called back up when the issue was resolved, as the pharmacist had to personally make a phone call to the insurance company. I was never called back up and the technicians did their best to avoid eye contact with me as I scanned their faces every few minutes. Giving up on that method, I got back in a 6 person deep line & finally made it to the front of the line again, only to be told that the pharmacist called my insurance company to have to original payment from Monday refunded (to my credit card) for the partial prescription which I picked up 4 days ago, but she failed to obtain approval for the the remainder of the prescription which I am attempting to pick up today. I was told to wait again in the waiting areas she called the insurance company back to reverse the first insurance payment for 30 tablets and run the claim for all 84 tablets, since two separate claims could not be processed in the same day for the same medication. So, Iāve been her for a total of 75 minutes on my ONE DAY OFF this week, and I am STILL WAITING to have this seemingly simple issue addressed. I expect I will have to enter the line again for the THIRD TIME TODAY after another 15 minutes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWithin the last two weeks, they cancelled two prescriptions without any notice of why. One of which was my ADHD medication and another was a medication for my nebulizer. I have pneumonia and could have desperately used this one medication to get better faster. No phone call on either. Tonight was the first time I could talk without coughing so I called to find out what happened. The female pharmacist named at night called at 11:30 pm on 8/20/23 extremely rude acted like my profession was a pharmacist. She told me my ADHD medication was backordered and they donāt know when it will be available. 1st time Iām hearing this. She then rudely says I need to find the medication somewhere else and then call the dr to tell them where it is at. They canāt transfer between locations (again something I didnāt know). She argues with the type of medicine the 2nd prescription was but informs me it was a medication for my breathing machine. This was also out of stock and canceled without notice. Wow is all I can say! I went to the hospital earlier this week because the bronchitis turned into pneumonia and this prescription probably would have prevented my hospital visit. Back to tonightās phone call, I asked the pharmacist if she understood why Iām so upset, she didnāt care. She made excuses for the behavior and talked to me like I was a dog! I hope this review gets to the right people at Walgreens to have swift action done. She hung up on my when I told her I hoped this phone call was recorded and for her to leave a message for the pharmacy manager to call me tomorrow. I called back and spoke to a team lead in the store and she was very pleasant. I asked for this pharmacist to call me back to apologize for her unprofessional behavior. She...

If I could give it zero stars, I would.
By far the worst customer service I've ever encountered by an organization that claims to employ professionals. The pharmacy techs are curt, condescending, abrasive, forceful, rude, and overall unprofessional. If it wasn't for the 24-hour operating hours benefit, I would take my entire family's prescriptions elsewhere. A young lady (sorry, I'd put her name but she didn't introduce herself before chastising me. She just started talking once I said hello) from the pharmacy phoned me today 5/9 at 10:30am upset that medication that I didn't order, were ready and threatened me if I didn't pick them up. I never requested the medication to be autofilled. I received a call weeks ago saying it'd be a good idea to put everything on auto refill, I declined. I suppose they took it upon themselves to do it anyway. As a result, I got this tacky tech calling me to threaten me for not picking up medication. She also took it upon herself, when I explained to her that I didn't request anything, to hang up in my face.
Bravo, Walgreens for hiring such professionals. I hate to see how you treat elderly patrons. I wouldn't send my dog to this pharmacy. This isn't my first bad experience They're extremely slow and consistently provide poor customer service; hence, the 2.0 stars review rating. They don't seem to care.
