Where to begin…my journey with Carolina Bridal World started last August when I came in to look for a dress, thinking there was no way I’d find one at my first appointment. Ally proved me wrong and the 5th dress I tried on ended up being the one!! Ally made me feel SO comfortable throughout the whole process, took the time to listen to all of my wants/needs, and truly delivered.

Flash forward to December 2024. I came to pick up my dress and was not fully satisfied. The dress ended up being very big but I was assured once I got my alterations done, the dress would fit exactly as I imagined. I trusted the process and patiently waited for May to come around so I could finally get the dress altered.

I ended up losing a lot more weight than anticipated (due to wedding stress, etc.) and to make a LONG story short. My seamstress (not associated with CBW) could NOT get my dress to fit me the way I dreamed. Honestly…she pretty much botched It. Just TWO weeks before the big day, I picked up my dress and accepted that the dress would be big for my day and I’d just have to get over It.

I called Carolina Bridal World to bring my dress in to get steamed and for a last ditch effort, with tears in my eyes, asked if they had any advice to make my dress for better. This is when Betsy comes into the picture (spoiler: my angel sent directly from God).

Betsy saw my dress and was horrified at what my original seamstress did to the dress. I told her the seamstress claimed It could not be taken in anymore and I had to ‘compromise’ on being a bit uncomfortable. Betsy said ‘absolutely not, THEY can’t take your dress in anymore but I can’.

Betsy was fully booked until the end of October but squeezed me in to make my dress be my dream dress yet again. 10 days before my wedding, I came in for my final fitting and Betsy DELIVERED. My dress fit like a glove and I could not be happier (For context, my original dress was a size 14 and Betsy made It a size 4/6!!!)

I left Carolina Bridal World with tears in my eyes, not out of sadness, but of pure joy. I will always remember this team for going above and beyond for me.

Starting (and ending) my wedding dress shopping experience with yall was the absolute BEST choice I could’ve made. There’s all this hype about the wedding dress shopping experience but also anxiety about being a thicker girl and not fitting into samples, or not feeling heard or understood in terms of style, or not understanding how to articulate thoughts about likes/dislikes of dress features. Yall were outstanding to make this the wedding dress shopping experience of my literal dreams - it did not disappoint AT ALL! Allie is the real MVP for teaching me how to talk about the dresses, helping me analyze but also stay in touch emotionally with my thoughts and feelings about dresses. She prioritized me over my entourage where needed and advocated for me, she hyped me up but was also honest with me - she made me feel safe and understood and seen, which in dressing rooms is a HUGE deal nowadays. She spent time educating me on the dress shopping experience and comforting me about sizing differences in bridal vs. general fashion, and our appointment time went way over but she never once rushed me or even brought timing up - she was fully present with me in the moment and dedicated to helping me find my dress. She talked me through the worries and reservations about trying on more dresses, and even covered my cancellation fee for the salon I had booked later that day, because she truly believed in that being the dress for me, which helped me fight the anxiety of missing out on more salons. Isley set me up with her which I’m so grateful for, and Isley pre-selected the perfect gowns which were in such good alignment with the inspo I had provided upon booking the appointment. I’ve been on cloud nine all weekend reflecting on how great this experience was, and I’m so grateful and honored for that because I’ve heard such horror stories and I’m BEYOND grateful that didn’t happen with me. I cannot recommend this salon enough - I will be telling every bride to be to come here and see Isley and Allie specifically. The work yall do to provide for a service like this is no small feat, so major shout out to yall for making this girl’s wedding dress...

I had the absolute best experience here. I found a dress online that they did not have in the store and they got it on loan for me to try on. April was supposed to be helping me but she had another bride saying yes when I arrived, so, Tammi (Tammy?) came to help me, and I felt absolutely showered with love from Tammy. She took wonderful care of my girlfriends in the front while making sure I truly felt like the most beautiful girl in the world. Then April came and took over once she was finished, and while it was a different experience, it was definitely still marvelous. April's energy was joyful and excited. She gave me the full look with every dress I tried on to be sure I was getting the full experience all around. Then I found the dress!! And that's where the lovely Shannon comes in. Shannon found the most PERFECT veil for my dress. She was not supposed to be helping me but boy am I glad she did. She had the most stunning energy making me feel so calm and confident in my decision. I went to pick up my dress & buy my veil yesterday and I was lucky enough to get Shannon again. I cannot stress this enough, she is amazing. She made me feel like she was only there for me, which I know the girl had a ton to do, but she gave me her undivided attention when she was with me and it made all the difference. It felt like I was talking to a lifelong friend. She also remembered me from when she found the perfect veil back in december, and that was such a delightful feeling. A lot of big box stores just get brides in and out. Here, every single person I worked with made me feel special and like I could take as much time as I needed. While every woman I worked with was different, they all made me feel comfortable and confident in their own way. Because of this, I do not think it matters who you get, they will make the experience...
