Food Lion — Local services in Burlington

I went in to get a few items and I had just got off of eight hour shift and I was completely in a different world while I was on the phone with my boyfriend.. anyway, I went to self checkout, and I was bringing up my item and I accidentally didn’t scan my pack of pepperoni and I threw it in the bag and I guess the camera caught it and it gave him a notification because the guy running self check out came to me to see what had happened before you even pointed it out. I realize what I had done and I said the last thing and I apologize and took it out and rung it up and I just wanna say I thought he was really rude. The way he responded to me he didn’t say it was ok he didn’t even acknowledge me when I’m working at my grocery store and I’m working at self checkout and this happens. I apologize and I make sure I understand that they didn’t do it on accident and it doesn’t matter if they did it on purpose or not you need to make sure that they feel comfortable and that they’re not bothering you. You smile the whole time I don’t care if you’re tired you’re getting paid to work there so you need to be smiling and be polite not look at everybody like you want them to die and dismiss them if they make a mistake.. and after that, I guess his manager got the notification because she was walking around, staring at me with her stupid button up white shirt glaring at me, and then gets all up in my business with her stank ass breath, telling me how to do the machine when I know how to pay for my food… I work at a grocery store and I run the self check out and yeah, when people don’t ring up their things The right way it makes people alarmed that we have to be vigilant and make sure they’re not trying to steal, but we do that from a distance. That’s why you have that phone you watch from my distance if I’m bringing it up and you can look at the phone every time I ring something up and if it keeps happening, then you come say something and if you do notice it and you correct it and you’re still trying to make sure I’m not stealing again you go back and you watch I don’t need you circling me and I don’t need the managers down my ass. It’s very rude very unprofessional and I won’t be coming back to his Food Lion for a long Time. I was literally trying to laugh it off and make a conversation and ask how their day was doing and they’re all over me Being snarky and not even...

This food lion is clean on the inside, and the workers are knowledgeable on where products are located. Everyone is kind and helpful, and they usually have at least one manned register opened if you dont want to use one of the 4 self checkouts.

Plus a lot of people dont seem to know this fun fact, but unless otherwise posted, you can receive up to $200 cash back without purchasing anything, at a manned register. (Must buy something for cash back at a self checkout) but this is where i go to get money off a card, instead of going to an ATM and having to pay multiple fees for using it to get my money off. But like i said- this is possible at any Food Lion, everyday, unless they have a sign up that says otherwise. (And ive accidentally clicked cash back at a self checkout that had the sign on it- if the card is processed, they have to give you the cash back, because they cant refund a cash back transaction. It just may take a few minutes for a manager to come up to the front and get the money out of their money machine, or safe. Shame on Food Lion today!! I placed my grocery order around 2:00 PM today with a pickup time of 6:30 PM. They sent me a text message at 4:30 PM stating that my order would not be ready today but tomorrow. I called to speak to the to-go manager, and she stated that they don't have control over the computer when it pushes orders to the next day. Then she stated that they had been busy that day. I understand that they are probably busy, but when I placed my order, I was given time to pick it up today, and that's what I thought would happen. No one apologized for any inconvenience it might have caused. Very disappointed today! There are too many places to order groceries from, but I chose this Food Lion since I have placed orders there before, but not anymore. I do want to say that I also talked with the manager Richard who listened to me and stated that he didn't know that they were having any trouble but he also didn't make it right for me either.
