As a grocery store, MOM's Organic Market is in its own class.
The produce is top notch. I actually like that they have a smaller variety of items, because they're bringing in seasonal produce. All the staples are always there anyway. They always have a few unique/unusual produce item to try as well, which is a treat. I've seen Rambutan, Lychee, Daikon, Black Radish, Watermelon Radish, Lion's Mane, the best fresh turmeric I've seen anywhere, and many more.
This is also the best place to shop for people with dietary restrictions, hands down! The selection throughout the store is clearly very intentionally curated to their market segment.
They not only have a wide selection of thoughtfully-chosen high quality items -- it is also a pleasure to shop here. The aisles are clean, wide and uncluttered, free of shelf-talkers and gaudy displays of advertising.
The store layout is simple and logical, and they are always playing calming music. I actually feel calmer here while I browse and shop, which is a standout quality for a grocery store. If that weren't enough, the prices are lower than other stores for the same items, and MOM's carries many items that other stores won't.
All this is in extreme contrast to the stores in Southern NH where we live (please come up!) and most stores in Mass, for that matter. In the meantime we'll make a pilgrimage to this one every so often.
P.S. South Nashua, NH would be the perfect location for a new store. Whole Foods just opened a brand new location there, and their stores are looking more and more like MOM's lately, though it's still not even close. If you can find the right location, you could (quite literally) give them a run for their money just over the border in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMOM's is a new, neighborhoody, fun, friendly grocery store to shop at. The staff is super friendly and helpful and gave us the history behind this little gem. I love that it's small, and you can get in and out fairly quickly. Give this place a chance! If you know your products and prices from other grocery stores, then you know what's a good deal or not. Some items are a little pricier, but the sales off-set some of the prices, like the meat and bread and loads of other items. I love that I don't have to wonder if an item is organic or not. I didn't check out the produce, but had fun walking up and down the aisles finding little gems that I might not normally find at other stores. Speaking of which, I could find just about EVERYTHING else I would find at other big box chain stores. I felt like I was shopping in a little corner store, and look forward to going back. Help MOM survive, and check out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHeard about Mom's Organic Market before and wish that we had it in Boston area. Get to know this store from a Facebook group called Life after Russo's. Russo's is a family owned supermarket in Watertown. Many people miss it after it was closed. I know Mom's Organic Market because the company does a lot to protect environment. We should not judge the store with their limited choices of produces. If you go to their website, read their mission, their story, culture and products, you will feel differently when you go to the store. From the picture somebody shared, they sell a lot of things in bulk and their vegetables are with no packaging. I am so excited to see they have the store opened at Burlington. I will definitely visit the store and...
