Potbelly — Restaurant in Burlington

I placed an online order to be picked up last night, August 22nd 2023, when I went to pick it up, I was informed they didn't have any of the items I ordered. I asked for a refund since they already charged my card. I was told I needed to do it online. So while I was in the shop, I went online to try and request my refund and was struggling. I asked the guy if he could help he shrugged his shoulders and said he didn't know how. I asked if there was a corporate number I could call and he pointed to the card on the counter, so I called and it was a store number and of course nobody answered. So I looked back on the website and it read that if you needed to change or cancel an order to call the store. I asked the man if he would cancel my order, I was told no. I told him if he didn't do something I would call the police, he ignored me. So I called the police. Now I am still trying to get a hold of the store and no answer. I will be reaching back out to the police as I am doing as the police officer instructed. I urge you not to go to this potbelly. They have absolutely no customer service and are extremely rude. This place is easy to spot from the parking lot once you make it into the plaza. When you come in the menu is on the back wall above the drinks cooler. The counter perpendicular to the menu is where you order at, subway style. They mainly have sandwiches and soups, but also shakes and cookies. You work your way down the counter for toppings and such. Then the register is at the end of the counter and you wait for your food there. Total time getting a sandwich and Oreo milkshake took about five minutes of waiting. There are small tables and chairs to sit at that move around to accommodate your party size. There is a single men and women bathroom around the back right corner. There was a speaker and microphone set up so I believe they have live music available. Food was yummy and tastes fresh. And the shake was extra thick and yummy. Napkins at each table. Place was clean and well kept. Staff was helpful and patient with indecisive customers. Overall, great...

My mother and I are here on vacation. And we stayed at the hotel down the street so we decided to grab a bite before starting out drive home. We came in and the place was a mess counter tops were sticky, floor filthy, the drink station area dirty, it just didn't feel welcoming right off the bat. I the got in line and placed my order the first gentleman who took my order was very nice then I had to go down to a taller gentleman for my sandwich toppings, he was very emotionless I felt like I was a bother to him I asked for mayo he put 2 drops, literally 2 drops on my moms sandwich. Then when I went to Pay I was going to hand him cash and he goes "you don't have card" I was shocked I have worked in restaurants and retail I own a catering business and venue you just don't speak to customers in that tone. I understand we hall have bad days but leave that at home. This potbelly sandwich shop needs to help...
