Been to this store a handful of times over the past couple years. Nice place. Decent selection. Very clean and organized inside.
Sometime after 1pm on 8/2/24, I stopped in to see if they were interested in any of my coins or silver bars. The first employee I talked to was straight forward with me, telling me that they were gonna be more interested in Gold. Sure thing. Pulled out some slabbed gold coins. He looked them over and went to get a gentleman who was in a wheelchair. I had met and sold to this gentleman one of my previous times in the store. As he was looking over the coins, another employee came over, interested in seeing what was there. First thing he mentioned was about not knowing that fractional gold buffalos existed. I explained to him that they were a one year thing with the us mint. Gentleman in the wheelchair asked me what I was looking to get for the 2-1/10th buffalos. I said $700 each. The guy I had just explained the specific year of fractional buffalos to, pushed them back to me, scoffed and said "no, $700 for a 1/10 gold?!?!?"
I want to make it clear, I understand that this place needs to make money. I asked for lower than the lowest SOLD comparison on EBay. I was prepared for someone to look them up and throw out a counter offer. Or a simple, "we re not interested" would have sufficed. Instead, I was scoffed at while having them rudely pushed back to me. I have been in the hobby of metals and coins for almost 5 years now. I love learning about them. I don't expect anyone to be super knowledgeable on every coin. But perhaps when you don't know about something, before being rude and interjecting, take a couple minutes to do some research. It doesn't lead me to believe that this establishment is one that anyone needs to go to.
The not knowing, or unwilling to pay a certain amount is understandable. Don't be rude and insulting to your customers, it makes them not want to deal with you at all. I could’ve been offer $1000 for each coin after that interaction and I still would have walked right out.
I would like to apologize to the gentleman in the wheelchair and first guy who helped me. The rudeness of the 3rd employee had me gather all my stuff up and leave immediately. I will not be back. I would only recommend this place to someone that wants leave offended...
Read moreI took my engagement ring there to get an estimate on changing the band. The owner made some disparaging comments to me and to his coworkers, out loud, about the fact my engagement ring was moissanite and not diamond. The lady helping me made it a point to also assume I wanted a 4-prong band because “if it’s a cheaper stone you probably don’t care about losing it.” I ignored the comments and went through with the process of picking out a new band, and they told me they’d call me with the estimate. I never...
Read moreI just took my original engagement ring in to get repaired. They said they aren’t repairing anything that wasn’t bought there. It is a fifty year old ring. I pointed to the ring that I bought there a year ago and said I bought this one there. They laughed and said well…. I am now looking for someplace to repair my ring and will not...
