I am an avid mineral collector/seller and buyer and I would never ever come into this shop . horrible service and horrible attitudes. I walked in the store with some cases my own personal collection because I have my own company and rock shop just like them and I just returned from outwest like Utah Colorado and Wyoming, Multiple rock shops out there let me bring my cases in and talk about rocks this shop didnt even let me walk in the door I was immediately kicked out how can you own a rock shop and not wanna talk rock. I wasn't even trying to re sell them anything I was just coming to the talk crystals and gemstones but now I see you can't do that there I will never be returning. Not to add salt to the wound either but anybody can run this shop you can just go down to Tucson Arizona by wholesale like they did and then just resell it and that's why I'm starting to hate this industry because that's what a lot of people do they're not even living, breathing, eating it, there just reselling it.i even had a couple hundred bucks for gifts but I'll...
Read moreThe Appalachian Rock Shop is such a cool little spot! They have just about every crystal or gem you could want in whatever variety. Big pieces, little pieces, tumbled, raw, pendants, pendulums, you name it!
My favorite part is the wishing well with common (tumbled) crystals. There’s a little guide attached to the roof of the well, so you can identify what you dig out of the pile! You can get a drawstring pouch (small for $3, large for $8) with anything from the well fit inside.
The only not-great thing about the Appalachian Rock Shop is the location. No, not the out-there off-highway location, I mean the location behind what looks like two houses. I totally thought I was creeping up some family’s driveway until I saw the little building behind!
The shop’s parking lot is also very small, which is to be expected as it’s a small shop but the parking spaces were a bit strange.
Nevertheless, a great place. A hidden gem of Butler County, if...
Read moreEdit: I used to love this shop. It is now only a fraction of what it once was. The staff was friendly and the store was clean, but it is not even close to the gem it once was and only offers a small portion of the finds you used to be able to get.
It looks like a nice little place to shop but it used to be an amazing treasure.
Original review I love this place and have been shopping there for 30 years. They changed hands but kept the quality. Low to high range products, very good selection and very nice people. It's not a posh shop, they sell rocks, from a converted garage, but it's worth the visit.
I stand behind my 5 * review, but need to note that they sold the Appalachian Rock Shop to a new owner, it has moved locations, and no longer carries the same selection of items that it used to. I don't know what the store...
