If I could give them negative stars, I would. It started out great. They had a used vehicle that my husband and I were very interested in, and we immediately contacted them to ask for details and pictures on Sunday. We live a couple hours away, so we worked with Sonny via text and phone calls on a Monday and made an offer, which he sent us a picture of, on Monday afternoon. I was already approved for an auto loan through my bank, which I told him about. And that's when things went south. Sonny told me that there would be a $200 delivery fee, which I found later on their website that delivery of a purchase vehicle is free, no matter the distance. He told me to expect to hear from his financing department that evening, which I did not receive a call from. I sent a follow up text later Monday evening to let him know my availability on Tuesday. No response. I sent 2 messages and called on Tuesday to let him know I was available to discuss financing. He eventually text back and said he'd have someone call me. No calls. I sent another text in the evening asking if I should expect to just use my prior approval. No response. Sent a couple more messages on Wednesday and called again with no responses, as I was starting to suspect the vehicle had been sold to someone else. He messaged me back assuring me that it was mine and there were no issues, the vehicle was just in the detail shop getting a few rock chips touched up. My husband also called and was reassured by Sonny that the vehicle was ours and he was just waiting for it to get out of the shop. Thursday, we still hadn't heard from anyone about financing and I was feeling like I was begging them to take my money at this point. My husband calls again and Sonny put my husband on hold for more than 15 min before he gave up and hung up. Friday I was informed by the internet sales manager that someone else purchased the vehicle and already had possession of it. She told me that the manager would be in touch with me to make things right, and of course that never happened. I did just buy a brand new vehicle from my local dealership, so I'm sure they would thank you for that! Definitely would NOT EVER recommend Max Motors to ANYONE!!!!
Update: I did get a phone call from the manager 3 weeks later who was very apologetic and assured me that is not how they intend to do business, that my experience was very disappointing to hear about, and he would do what he could to make it right and earn my business...
Read moreFantastic dealership that stands by their vehicles. My wife and I recently bought a used truck here. The sales person was not pushy at all and it was clear that he was there to be helpful and facilitate the transaction. There were several points that the sales person asked if we were comfortable moving forward. Then, we were handed a list of the warranties, gap insurance, and different protective coatings that were available on the seats or the truck, etc. This is normally all of the stuff that you negotiate after you go back with the finance manager, and it's yet another high pressure sales pitch. Here, the sales person hands you the list and says you can check mark what you want and to let him know if you have any questions. What a different experience! This meant that going back with the finance manager was a simple process without any surprises and kept the whole experience much easier.
After purchase, we had an hour and a half drive back home. During this drive, we discovered 3 different issues with the vehicle we hadn't noticed before. We took the truck back to the dealership (which we had some paperwork to drop off with them anyway), and they checked out the truck, ordered the parts, and scheduled a time for us to drop it off. The sales manager said that they would take care of all of it at no cost to us. I have seen many other dealerships want to charge for these kinds of things because the vehicle has already been sold. We have now been driving the truck for nearly a month now, and we have no other issues.
My wife and I wish the dealership was closer, but we are already talking about when we get our next vehicle, taking the hour and a half trip to Max Motors to do it. Never have we had such a simple and nice experience...
Read moreI have had nothing but problems from this dealership. I have purchased 2 cars from them. I bought a brand new jeep compass from them in 2022 and a month later hose broke and I needed a new engine took them 4 months to replace it. In 2024 I had same problem and had it towed. I told them do not leave my car outside or it would freeze up and they did and it did freeze up. They had to put a new engine in. Took them 6 months to fix. I was told repeatedly that they would give me loaner but never happened. They kept ordering wrong part. They never take responsibility for their errors. Once I picked it up the next day it would not start so they put a new battery in it. Then it started heating up again and they had to replace cap on radiator. They had just replaced everything. Bill was $14000. Then recently it would not start and I took it back and they said it was an auxiliary battery and replaced it. Two days later same battery light came on. I let it sit a couple weeks tried to drive it again and same thing happened. I had to pay for tow to local dealer Who told me it was the alternator. So first Max Motors misdiagnosed it. I have had nothing but problems. I had lost so much work and had issues due to their errors.
Of all the cars I have had this car has been worst experience I have had. Now they want $1200 for an alternator which costs...
