Can I give a zero? I have never been more frustrated with a company in my life. Purchased an entire living room of furniture with Talsma. Within two weeks of owning the furniture I noticed markings and stains on the chairs and no one eats in my living room. They were coming from being touched with skin. Like maybe the oils in people's skin. The fabric is so thin and they are so cheaply made you can see string through the fabric as well as the yellow of the foam. I called to discuss the fabric with the store and they said they would come out and look at the chairs. They sent out a cleaning crew person who was unable to get the markings out and said to recontact the store. After three attempts and many many phone calls to follow up and complain they finally admitted they do not recover chairs. So why even play the game of sending people out? So I now have two chairs I will have to live with. Now, a year later, my couch is starting to show stains as well. I have attempted to follow all the recommendations to clean the couch, none of which worked. So I thought I'll file a claim to have it cleaned. I purchased the $300 protection plan of course. So I call today and guess what? They don't clean their furniture! They are telling me it is for single incident episodes only. So the $300 plan I purchased to protect the couch does not work. So I ask if I can have it refunded. They say sure but I'll have to provide the original paperwork. I say to the lady, you are looking at my paperwork. She says she knows but I need to show my paperwork and contact accounting. I say OK can I please have their number so I am able to contact them? She tells me she is not able to give me the number... what am I to...

Like many other shoppers do, we did the typical shopping around this time to see what other local furniture retailers in the Grand Rapids area had to offer. After leaving each store we visited we left feeling that the customer service was very poor and the product lines were limited and the quality of the product we looked at was very questionable.
Soon after entering Talsma Furniture Maurine greeted us and began to ask us a few questions, she was able to extract from us what she needed to know so she could direct us in the right direction. After answering her questions she immediately had product in mind that she wanted to show us and we might be interested in.
We were having a hard time deciding because of the variety they had to offer.
Maurine was able to point out the pros and cons of each piece of furniture we considered.
We finally made our decision and we felt good about it and knew it was the right fit for our family.
The Customer service was top shelve, product knowledge was excellent and we left feeling good about our purchase. That's a winning combination for any Customer.
My only regret was the time we wasted 'shopping around' only to end up where we have purchased in the past.
Next time, we are going directly to Talsma Furniture. I definitely would reccomend Talsma Furniture to anyone that's in the market for quality furniture, large selection to choose from and great Customer Service.

When I walked in, I passed two sales people on their cell phones, who did not make eye contact with me ā and then I ran into Melanie M, who was walking to greet me with the biggest smile š on her face! I told her exactly what I was looking for and that I was in a hurry - she said that was not a problem at all and offered to help me right away! She took me right to the item Iād found online, we looked at a few different options and I immediately found āthe oneā! Melanie M helped get everything taken care of very professionally and with a smile, but also accommodated my small time frame and even got some help to load it in my truck so I could be on my way! (When I got home, my spouse couldnāt wait to enjoy the recliner, she had to try it out right in bed of the truck, lol. She approves!)
