I have visited this thrift store multiple times and regularly shop here. What I've noticed is that the prices are excessively high for used clothes. They often place exorbitant prices on items simply because they can.
For example: $39.99 for used jeans $20-50+ for a used jackets $12.99 for jeans, $8.99 for shirts You get my point.
I've seen many clothing pieces and items with rips and severe wear priced as if they were new at a major retail store. In comparison, Walmart, Target, and even TJ Maxx offer more affordable new items at the same price as this thrift store.
I understand that any establishment needs to make a profit to run a business / organization. but this is taking it to the next level of greed. These places take your items for free to resell. Even if they priced items at $4 or less, they would still make money given the volume they receive daily and weekly, plus the sales at the end of the day/week and how much cash flow comes in.
The store is full of items and goods, but it is beyond me how they can justify such high prices, especially in today's economy. In a small town with limited options, they know...
Read moreYou won't be able shop for clothes or shoes at this store. While items are separated by women's, men's and kids, and then further separated by the kind/article of clothing they are, they are NOT separated by size. That makes it unbelievably hard to shop for yourself. And it just makes no sense why things would placed together by color. I've asked - the staff certainly have no clue. But if I have to look at 100 items that won't fit before I find something I like that does fit, then I'm just done shopping. You won't get money from me. It's clean, has a decent selection, but this store needs a serious overhaul to make it worth your time. You'd literally be there searching from open to close for clothes that fit. It's unfortunate. I think it could much more successful if it was...
Read moreI am a veteran,a Senior and have shopped at Volunteers of America before and during as after covid 19. At various thrift shops in Genesee county. These past 2 years I can't find anything I want or can use. The clothing & houseware items are well used as overpriced for second hand. A gently used metal bowl was 5.57 as well as cookie sheet. I can buy for 10.00. Clothing was not gently used but well used and odorous. Sadly I'm not paying 7.50 for a well used top. I found nothing I felt was a bargain. Sadly Newer donations are being sold else where. I'm offended. I have heard donations are picker over & sold else where. Sad times for those who depend on thrift shopping. Prayers for thrifting to return to affordable bargains and...
