After researching pros and cons I finally decided to try the DEXTERO DTR1 tires manufactured by GITI in the USA and sold by Walmart. 45k warranty and both traction and temperature ratings are A ( these ratings run from best to worst , AA, A, B, C ) so this rating is above average. The speed rating is T which goes to 118 mph. The reviews are averaging 4.6 out of 5 and most people seem quite happy with their purchase and the money they saved. They have a great pattern and deep tread. Set of 4 with road hazard and lifetime rotation came to 385.00 - The Jeep Compass I put them on was done in 40 minutes , which is also above average. I am going to revisit this review after 1000 miles and let you know where we stand. My reviews are ALWAYS honest and fair. The Calera Walmart auto center has never let me down , never. Great professional installation and customer service. EDIT EDIT EDIT So I’ve put about 1200 miles on the tires and have only one concern. First the good things. They are definitely hugging the road and have great traction on wet roads , even deep standing water. They take turns very well and don’t appear to be losing grip. The only concern I have is the obvious “tilt” you feel when you make turns. I’m faulting the sidewall strength for this and that is unfortunate as that is the most important part of the tire itself. I’m going to keep the set on the Jeep Compass but I won’t buy another set. I’m going down to three stars. To finalize the review I’ll say - if you have a basic vehicle you’re using to get back and forth to work, these will be fine. If you are driving a high performance vehicle and or traveling quite a bit , I would get General Altimax or Exclaim. All of these brands are sold at Wally World. The service from Walmart is by far a 5 star review but the DEXTERO tires get a 3. Again - my reviews are honest and accurate, Every....
Read moreOn Oct 4, 2025 and Oct 6, 3025, I asked for the tire center to check my tires for leaks because I had a low tire indicator on my vehicle's warning lights. The first attempt, Oct 4, the woman said, yes we can do that but there's a 3 and a half hour wait because all 3 of ya'll decided to come in at the same time. A smart attitude. So I left and decided to return Monday, Oct 6. Same person asked me what I needed and I asked if they could check my tires because I had a low air warning. She said which tire. I said I thought the front tires looked low but wanted all 4 looked at. She said we don't have time to check all 4. Rude. I questioned why not and she said Give me your keys, he can hold his hand over the tire to see if there's a leak. I said if you can't check all 4 then I'll go elsewhere, which I left and went to Mavis Tire. Mavis Tire inspected all 4 tires FREE and were nice about it. I always purchase tires at Walmart AND most of our shopping at this location. But I am DONE with this rude bunch. I tried to call to complain, they don't answer the phone either. I called the corporate number, got someone who struggled with understanding me and was zero help. What happened to customer service Walmart? I spend big money with you, or I should...
Read moreFlat tire on I-65, used spare to get to this place. When I arrived an employee was rude and just pointed for me to wait without speaking and walked away. Another told me where to park after I waited for 5 minutes. She had to check to see if my tire was a special order (225/40R18) which it was but she said they had 4 in stock and would give me one so I was "lucky". I waited for 1 hour then checked on the progress. The cashier asked what car I was driving and said she was glad I came back because they were not able to find a tire for my car and handed me the keys. They had my phone number but did not try to call me or page me in the store. I'm unable to make it to another shop before they all close and I'm forced to stay overnight. Avoid this place if you can, unprofessional staff ruins any service they...
