Overall Hotel experience is good. Staff is great, very friendly and helpful. Pool is clean. Overall very professional environment. Biggest complaint would be slow slow data speeds. Anyone like me who uses the internet a lot when they are out of town for work, for streaming services or anyting will be disappointed. They're free Wi-Fi is 5 megabit and you can pay an additional $5 per day to get 10 megabit. This is a huge rip-off most residential data speeds nowadays start at 50 megabit so for $5 a day which comes up to $150 a month I would expect a lot more. As someone who needs to download modify and upload moderate size CAD files on occasion this is unbearably slow. Microwave and small refrigerator in every room. 1080p flat screen. Also the USB ports built into the plugs in the room are bad. They work but have a hard time charging a modern phone, bring a charger.

Felt a little scared honestly. People in the parking lot late at night driving cars around and smashing into parked cars and trailers. Luckily mine didn't get hit. Some security might be an idea considering Calera apparently has one of the highest crime rates per capita in the country. Didn't know that until after the fact. This place is basically a trucker's hotel. The rooms and beds are clean, no complaints there but the surrounding area is sketchy. Been driving all night and found this place. Keep on driving if you have kids.

Oh, my goodness…..where to begin! First, I got an amazing nights sleep here. Everything in my room was clean, fresh and the bed was SO comfortable. Breakfast was delightful & delicious!! What an assortment of food there was….. bacon, sausage, biscuits, waffles, gravy….OJ, coffee, muffins, fruit, yogurt…. You get the picture….and more… Terri & Kim the breakfast hosts were amazing & gave wonderful customer service! Thank you Hampton Inn for a wonderful experience at your hotel in Calera, Alabama!!

After trying this location for the first time on a regular route between our home in Nashville and Gulf Shores Alabama, this will not be our regular stop! It was a little pricey which is fine if you get what you pay for. And we paid an additional $75 to bring our small dog. |The room was small but comfortable except the bed was directly across from the heat/ac unit and air is blowing on you directly if the unit is in use. Not a big deal, but we were traveling on Saturday night and before 8:00 housekeeping was running a loud vacuum cleaner in the hall directly outside our door. Almost seemed like she was pushing us to be out of the room already. The microwave in the room didn't work, and the coffee from the coffee bar was cold. Had to take coffee back to the food area to use their microwave. We reported the broken nicrowave and also that housekeeping had been very noisy pretty early on that Sunday morning, but the front desk employee didn't respond to either, even note the microwave needed to be replaced. Just a very curt "sorry". The housekeeping staff we encountered in the hall was either nice and smiling or completely surly. The check in front desk crew was nice, but as noted, the check out front desk had no custsomer appeal at all. We won't be...

Very nice staff at check in. They ran to get a wheelchair when they realized I was ill so my son could check in. They provided me with bottled water which I repeatedly dropped. Even as I was apologizing for the mess and not being able to talk right they were telling me it was all okay. They didn't mind. Little did they recognize the symptoms of a stroke. I believe hotel staff should be instructed in some symptoms of basic things that can be major. My son, who is mentally handicapped, made me get off the road because my driving was scaring him. I was so out of it in that lobby, while I sat there while my son unloaded our stuff, and now after months of falling, dropping so much stuff and generally feeling so weak we realized what had happened. I was having a stroke while sitting there. I wish someone could have seen and known what was going on. They could have called an ambulance and changed the rest of my life. I guess the room was okay. My son, who can't drive, walked out to bring me food which I never touched. He never complained later and believe me if something was wrong we would have heard about...

I want to say thank you to the whole crew of this hotel. Unfortunately this last trip wasn’t a normal trip down south for my husband & I. My granddaughter had passed away and we had to go take care of things. The love , peace, respect, & empathy we got from the members of this hotel was amazing. I can’t thank yall enough for being so kind to my family. The support you gave us anything we needed yall were there. Thank you to the hotel manager & Kim Mcconaghy for all you did for us. I can’t remember everyone’s names I know the tall guy on 3 rd shift was amazing and friendly. The ladies in the kitchen that cooked breakfast & coffee. The lady at front desk with the blonde hair that had to rest our keys because we was extending our stay thank u! It’s not everywhere you go and a business makes you feel like family. But this one did and I will stay here every time we come to south Alabama this is my home hotel. The beds were soft so when we could finally sleep we did get sleep. Very clean, safe , quiet most of all. Please let everyone know this is the best hotel and we...
