Never been followed around in a store before mark this down as one of them that does this. Made me feel very uncomfortable like I was doing something wrong when all I wanted to do was buy books with my hard earned cash. I left with one item because 1) they dont have much to choose from and 2) I didn't really wanna give stalker lady business I only bought the one item incase she got a hair up somewhere and and tried to accuse me of loitering. My mother ended up coming in the store maybe 10 minutes after me and she was followed too the woman at the counter was older and I haven't seen her in there before. I have only been there maybe 3 times before although I've lived in the area forever the other ladies that I've seen there were polite and accommodating And even though I never really found anything those other times either, I decided to see if they had anymore on JFK this time. Which will also be my last time they should not discriminate against those of us who may not look like the stereotype of an angel(multiple tattoos, multiple piercings, dark clothes and dyed black hair ) I'll have you know, I spend my time taking care of the elderly in a memory care unit and as a CNA they all love me and see past our difference in cultures I come highly rated from every other elderly I know except this lady oh well there's always barnes and noble or.half price books even the family pathways down the...
Read moreI am such a fan of Scout & Morgan Books; which local artist and long time resident of Cambridge Larry Ostrom says is "a living treasure". I agree with this and also believe that Judith (owner) is a shining light in our community. She is warm, welcoming and thoughtful. She remembers that I like certain journals and has an instinct to know which books I may be drawn to. This lovely shop invites and welcomes me to browse and check out the wide array of books, and one may even wish to grab a coffee or lunch from the City Center Market Cafe right next door and get comfy in front of the cozy fireplace. I love that there are cards for all occasions, gift ideas like candles, socks, puzzles and of course; books; of which they have for all ages. This treasure of a shop has something for everyone and it has new and previously gently owned books as well as activity books for children. Judith is great about connecting with local authors as well and often collaborates with them for book signings and other events. If you are a book lover or want to bless a book lover...come and check out Scout & Morgan; linger, grab a coffee, chat with Judith and buy a book (or three). Books have a way of bringing people in our...
Read moreIt's a nice book store and the ladies are very helpful. The store does buy back books. I bought some brand new books and decided I didn't want them anymore after I finally realized when I got home that I already had some of the same books didn't have receipt. So I only got about a quarter of the amount of money back as store credit. It would of been less if I wanted cash back. Otherwise, it's a...
