I brought in a friend visiting from NJ who came to stay with me on vacation. He started getting sick and we figured we would best bring him into the ER. He was treated like a king .... they admitted him as they wanted to be extra sure he was ok before letting him go back to my place. He said he never was treated so great in any hospital he ever was in.
The following year my brother came to spend some time with me and had an issue. Immediately I brought him to the ER. There was no wait, they took him in right away, gave him all the tests needed, told him to enjoy his few days of vacation with us but to make sure that he gave the disc that they sent him home with to his doctor as soon as he got back to NYC....he did and it saved his life. the disc showed that he had early detection of lung cancer. Kudos to Dorchester General Hospital because they did not want to ruin his vacation by telling him the bad news, but made sure that he saw the doctor back in the city for immediate followup. A truly knowledgeable and professional facility.
We are so blessed to have a hospital like this in our area. Therefore I give Dorchester General...
Read moreMy aunt was brought to the ER a couple weeks ago, after a fall at her home. The emergency crew was great....I sent along her "MOLST" information with them. Most of the people in the ER were really great. I did have a problem with the doctor who questioned something that was on the MOLST paper (signed by my aunt and her primary care physician...recently). The hospital doctor said..."You don't want 'this', do you?" and convinced my aunt to go along with another choice on the MOLST questionnaire and she (doctor), said the staff had already entered what she thought should be the correct answer. I said, "If she and her regular primary-care physician discussed all the questions and these answers (on the MOLST questionnaire), were what they had decided...then the hospital should go along with it." The hospital doctor became pushy and being in a vulnerable situation, we just gave in and agreed. So, the hospital doctor said she was going to keep the change she had made that had already been entered into the hospital computer. Just warning other people who may find...
Read moreWill never go back went there sick expecting to get some kind of medical treatment. Did not check anything but typical blood pressure, listened to my breathing, and looked in my ears and told me to continue taking over the counter medication. This is after sitting in there for a couple hours. Really find it unbelievable so your gonna end up sending me a bill in the mail for treatment and basically did nothing. There was no Covid test or throat culture or anything I really advise everyone not to waste your time and take the ride to a real facility!!! I would have been fine with a little cough medicine, inhaler, or steroid anything because I have been taking over the counter medicine already and it isn’t kicking the issue!! I have never in all my years been to a place that does nothing at all and been told continue over the counter medication and let it runs...
