Extremely Disappointed: Subpar Quality and Unprofessional Service
The store manager directly told me that If you bought anything from Big 5, they are not responsible for any problems after the payment. The customers need to contact the manufacture by themselves.
The whole story: I recently had an unfortunate experience with Big 5 at Campbell, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. The overall quality of their products and the level of service I received were well below my expectations.
I purchased an okuma fishing rod from their local store, hoping for a reliable and durable solution. Unfortunately, the quality of the goods was shockingly poor. I only used it for three minutes, and the rod is broken as attached in the photo. I have been fishing for years, and this is the first time that the fishing rod only lasts a few minutes.
The customer service experience was equally disheartening. When I reached out to the local store team to express my concerns, their response was rude and unprofessional, not helpful at all. They seemed indifferent to my dissatisfaction, which only added to my frustration. It is almost the opposite attitude compared to the initial purchase experience.
In addition, I had an encounter with the store manager, who displayed an unprofessional and disrespectful attitude. Their behavior was far from what one would expect from a reputable company. It's disheartening to witness such a lack of accountability and customer care. She just said there was no relation with our store, you can directly contact okuma, OMG.
It’s only 35 dollars, but their way of treating the customer, especially with the flawed products, totally...
Read moreIt’s taken me courage to write this review as to it being a negative one. During our time in the store we were approached by a very rude management employee named "Tony" we had asked for his assistance with finding what we needed. He was very condescending, treating us like we were complete idiots. (Mind you we weren't familiarized with this location.) Instead of trying to help us, he instead began making myself and my daughter feel self-conscious and uncomfortable. Tony was trying to recommend a different product then What we originally had asked for.Tony made a bias comment directly to my daughter about a pair of shoes she requested. (she has a learning disability and is unable to comprehend at times) My daughter was almost in tears from frustration. We left the store immediately not to be berated further. We left so fast that I had left my car keys on the counter. If I didn't need my car keys I wouldn't have stepped foot back into that store.
My family and I will never come back to this store, even if it was the only place with the items we needed. Our experience with Tony was very uncalled for and disrespectful. He also treated his staff unfairly, his demeanor and sense of entitlement to humiliate others is sickening. Me and my family are extremely baffled and taken back to have witnessed such behavior coming...
Read moreI bought a pair of quad roller skates at this location for the Family Giving Tree and only realized the next daythat I needed a gift receipt for the purchase. I didn't have the original receipt on me, but the two staff I talked to, Brockton and Grace, were extremely pleasant and helpful. After I explained the situation to them, they promised to do what they could (even though they hadn't handled a similar situation before). After only 5 minutes of some processing (and friendly chatting with both of them) they were able to print out the receipt and bring up the full details of the purchase. Amazing staff at this store! Thanks to...
