I went to this location with my mother today, and the staff was extremely rude and condescending to her for no reason. This was the clerk working the first aisle during the 3:30 PM shift on today, Monday, July 8th. When we were looking to purchase some baby tomatoes, one of the aides stocking the shelves didn’t know the price, as the tag was missing. When we went up to the counter to ask for help, the clerk asked us smugly “what do you want me to do about it” multiple times, as if we were demanding something egregious. We just wanted to know the price. She then demanded again several times after that asking what the issue was since “the bar code was obviously there” as if we were supposed to know what that means as customers. She called the manager on site (I’m assuming he was) and he did the same behavior , acting the same way . The clerk ended up blaming that worker that initially directed us, while simultaneously eluding that he was incompetent. Stating that he was “making a mess again”. I would not want a co worker like that. The young man who tried to help my mom was apparently never working that station before and that is unfair. To top this off, the person who helped with the bags asked my mom over and over if she wanted paper or plastic , super quickly , abruptly and wouldn’t give her a chance to respond, asking faster and faster in a rude and impatient tone. If we were aggressive to start off - I would understand as service workers often get treated worse than they deserve, and I hold no joy for leaving this review either. But, this encounter was unacceptable and unnecessary. Why treat people this way? My mom did not need to be talked to that way for no reason. We just wanted to pick up some quick things for dinner. Avoid this location during those hours. Obviously they take out their frustrations on customers who...
Read moreYikes! What happened, Nob Hill/Raley's? Since 2016, I had great experiences ordering delivery from Nob Hill. They were usually on time and their products were always high-quality. (Granted, I think my deliveries were originally coming from their Santa Clara store, which is an excellent store). But my last delivery, which was from the Campbell store, featured two containers of months out-of-date oat milk (in bloated, old containers). My cucumber arrived looking like it had been in a street fight -- it was bruised, had cuts in it, and was shriveled on one end. Even worse, when I called that day, I didn't receive a "sorry about that," and though I was told I'd receive a refund, months went by...and bupkis for a refund. I called back and was told to call back in 7-10 business days -- I didn't receive a "Hey, sorry about that" this time, either. I gave them two weeks, and I called back and spoke with a helpful woman who investigated and promptly called me back: It turned out that the refund was never processed. I should be getting it in 3-5 business days...hopefully! I still love Nob Hill, but I've been shopping elsewhere. I don't have money and time to burn like this. Be sure to check the milk containers. An employee told me that they found tons of other months-expired milk on the shelves after I'd...
Read moreUpdate 7/24/10 - This past weekend, there was a younger lady managing the deli counter while training a fairly new employee. I was quite impressed by her aptitude and ability to manage four customers who were taking advantage of a promotion. She ran operations like a clockwork and knew exactly how to manage customer expectations. The Nob Hill management team really has a good feel for high quality personnel. I can only wish that such service were mirrored across the industry. When it comes to checkout, however, I choose the self-checkout service 9 out of 10 times due to convenience. Unlike other grocery stores, Nob Hill even has the regular checkout lines under control. Keep it up!
Old Review Luckily, the same representative from last time was at the deli this Saturday. He's very customer oriented and made sure my order was processed correctly. Compared to other grocery stores in the area, Nob Hill still has that unique feeling that a customer is welcome instead of being just a number in the crowd. This location usually has sufficient parking and the quality is...
