I just purchased a $60, 13 lbs. piece of beef brisket to take back home. The meat was prepackaged. I ask the attendant if it could be cut in half to ensure it would fit in my cooler for the long trip home - I live 6 hours away. She said the cutting machinery was already sanitized for the evening but offered that perhaps I could bring it back in the morning to be cut. She proceeded to asked another butcher for approval but came back with a definitive "no" answer.
I am quite taken a back but the lack of accommodation, especially by a small town business serving a custom clientele. The staff's unwillingness and inflexibility to meet a simple customer request is a poor reflection on the business' customer satisfaction commitment as well as repeat business sensitivity. I'm guessing the meat department just down the road at Giant Eagle would take a much different approach to ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.
Hope I don't end up disappointed in product...
Read moreGood pricing. Their specials definitely beat the bigger box stores. I called in an order to pick-up, had to wait in line for a person to get my order, there were at least 3 people in the building (two working the counter) and I repeatedly got skipped despite saying that I was next and just picking up a called in order. I asked the lady at the counter if I had to get in line each time and she said yes. That, I don't understand. What's the point of phoning in an order if you're going to make me stand in line behind 5 people anyway? Both women ignored me, the one that rang me out gave a nasty look when I asked her how I was suppose to maneuver the pick-up. She changed her tone after I called her out on her behavior. Their Customer Service is terrible each time I go. I'm always hoping it will get better because the specials are great, but I'm quickly approaching to paying the extra few cents for better service at...
Read moreI usually go to places I hadn't been to before, a day in advance. Just to see what it's like. And, I saw that it's a small place. There's only two dock doors in the back. And, you check into the store, someone will greet you, take your paperwork, and tell you to back in. There is a lumper fee. In case you have a 6:00am EST appointment (time zone), and it's dark. Once, they're done unloading your trailer, you can drive around the building next to it back onto the road. I almost forgot to say, there's no overnight parking on property. Because, yesterday, I was informed by the store manager next door(business), said, he saw other truckers stay on the property. But warned that a cop may ask me to leave, because of it. So, while sitting here, a cop did come by and said I could go down the street to the nearby Giant Eagle store and next to the Taco Bell(within the GE parking lot, of course). The cop was very nice...
