Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Canal Fulton

I came in yesterday morning and first thing I went over to the Produce Department and I saw 2 happy faces working. Really nice to see. The man taller and probably 30-35 and the younger woman probably in her early 20's. They work very well together and honestly it is not the first time I have been in and seen them do so. Always working together. I remember her being very knowledgeable about the different lettuces they have. She is always straightening up things whether it is berries, apples, onion and so on. He was very helpful telling me how to determine if a watermelon is sweet and he was right when I took home the one he suggested. Either way I just wanted to make a point to praise both of them for having not just being friendly faces but being very smart when it comes to produce. It is a big difference when either of those two are there, but really when the two of them are both there it always looks nice and I don't feel like I am bothering them if I have to ask them something and will actually get an answer and not an "um" or a "I don't know". I have seen others frankly just throw stuff out and just seem to not want to be bothered or stand around looking lost. Hopefully they are both in the next...

My mom and I have been coming to this giant eagle for over 25 years now. I love the morning cashiers very friendly however the cashier's in the evening (young boys) have no customer service skills whatsoever! Yesterday Adain was our cashier couldnt even say hello. my mom and I came in we had separate orders she put the yellow bar down to separate them. Adain moves the bar before he was done ringing my things up and my mom said oh this is separate, He said I know in a very rude manner.. Next we had what we thought was a coupon but apparently not.. He said it doesn't have a bar code I can't scan this. I said well can you get someone who knows what to do we got it here... he rolled his eyes with attitude picked up the phone to call his manager over, which she wasn't very helpful either. Needless to say this is not the first rude interaction with the evening staff lately . Oh and what happened to cashiers putting your groceries in the cart or asking if you need help out... I normally do not do reviews good or bad but this has happened on multiple...

Well staffed, but not well stocked. Favorites are always out of stock (Coffee Mate Sugar Free Hazelnut creamer is constantly empty amongst a full shelf of creamer but more is never ordered, there's only ever a few available if any). A lot of favorites completely went away. The staff keeps things running fast through the checkout and are very nice, always. But the store could use some cleanup, example in the chip aisle (photo attached). It would also make the community look nicer if they rented a power washer and cleaned the side of the building that currently looks like it was next to a factory burning coal or something. They need to put a sign up in the aisle on Sundays about not selling alcohol until noon, it would help. It's the only close place to shop for groceries or else I think a lot of people might choose a different store, but little improvements like cleaning up could really elevate this place to 4 or 5 stars. I do appreciate the staff and think they work hard, so maybe additional staff is just needed or a new strategy...
