We were pretty excited to try out the all-you-can-eat crab legs! Our experience was mixed but leans on the favorable side. The atmosphere was cozy yet loud. It's not a place with an intimate setting. Way to much fun being had. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The service was great!! Everyone had smiles and positive attitudes that help smooth over the minor technical mishaps. Now the food. Minor preventable mishaps. #1 The snow crab legs were constantly rubbery from being overcooked. They lacked seasoning badly. Definitely in need of some Old Bay. But there was a constant flow of them coming to our table!! Never without!! #2 The fried scallops, potato wedges, and butterflied shrimp were all slightly above average. No complaints. #3 The lasagna was cute in its little skillet. However, a thermometer is an essential tool. The middle was ice cold. Huge let down. #4 The Meatloaf again was in its own little skillet. This product was a disaster and needs an execution revamp!! The exterior was crispy like it sat in the salamander a bit too long. The middle of the meat was mushy, borderline liquid, 0 form, and sat in grease. Not good at all. #5 The issues we experienced were all fixable with a little B.O.H. attention except the Meatloaf. That was bad! We are willing to give Cast Iron another shot based on the reasonable price point, overall enjoyable atmosphere, and fixable issues. Another plus was the full bar. Although we didn't partake this evening, the Buffalo Trace Bourbon caught my eye!! We would have liked a vegetable option available. Corn on the cob is a no-brainer, although a fresh green bean would have been nice as well. Perhaps a side...
Read moreMy husband and I met up with my classmates for our class reunion, and we're offered the buffet they had prepared, for $24.95 a piece. ($49.90) It was terrible! We both let the server take our entire uneaten plates, offering us no concern for the fact, that we just spent $50.00 and ate nothing but a couple nibbles. The potatoe wedges were hard and dried out, the tater tots ( or whatever they were) were dried and tasteless, the roast beef ( mystery meat?had no juice or gravy and was dried out and tuff, the pork was only slightly better than the beef. The greenbeans were undercooked and tasteless. What kind of buffet serves that kind of crap? There were no sides. No salad, No mashed potatoes and gravy either. No ketchup, no salt, only some marinara sauce for what exactly? I should have asked them to reimburse my card, but didn't want to mess up the atmosphere of our reunion. We'll never go back, nor recommend.
**Update: There were 2 meats, one was pork and one looked like beef, regardless it was terrible. The green beans might have come from the farm but they were undercooked and hard. The things that looked like tatertots were overly breaded, so I'm not sure what those were. I can assure you I was there hence my receipt. I'll get with the organizer of the reunion to list the full menu. Also, I might add that after reading through your review thread, you seem quite confrontational and argumentive of anyone's negative reviews. I reviewed the quality of our meals. I don't want reimbursed, that's not why I...
Read moreWent to the breakfast buffet. What a let down. Eggs were cold and not completely done. ( 1 heating flame under meat side of roll top server. Why not one on each side like some of the other roll tops do)? Chicken fritters were rock hard. No sausage for a 1/2 hour ( mind you 7 customers including myself were in there (9-9:30). Bacon was chewy and tasted pretty good. No biscuits, again for 1/2 hr. Breaded shrimp was delicious. Mac and white cheese was bland. Need flavoring. Potatoe wedges and perogies okay ( at least they were warm) ( I didn't try the French toast) There were 3 waitress ( 2 of them were nibbling on food at the counter where the buffet was. Only one ( blond with glasses) was getting people drinks. By the time I left, 17 customers were in the restaurant. That's when the other server started getting drinks. At least it was clean in the restaurant. The men's bathroom on the other hand, needs a serious makeover. I really suggest adding more breakfast items to increase variety ( ham, fruit, toast, maybe an omelet station). Mini Hostess bag doughnuts doesn't cut it. $14 bucks and then another $3 for coffee Plus tip? It wasn't worth $22. Not reasonable for the food that was presented. Please step up your game, Canal Fulton needs another good...
