FIND ANOTHER BRAIDER!!!

I regret to share a disappointing experience with my former hair braider, whom I had been visiting for over two years. As a frequent customer who comes at least once a quarter, I expected a level of professionalism and reliability that, unfortunately, was not met.

I scheduled an appointment with Fatou (I refuse to let Mary do mg hair) a week in advance and called the night before to confirm whether she could wash my hair before braiding me. It was then that she informed me her sink was not working. I reassured her, saying, “Okay, don’t worry, I’ll figure out how to wash my hair.”

On the day of the appointment, as I was heading to the shop, I called to inform her I was on my way. To my shock and confusion, she responded, “I didn’t know you were still coming.” I’m not sure how she translated me saying I’ll figure out how to wash my hair to me not being able to come, but if their was confusion I’m not sure why she didn’t just call me back and confirm with me. Despite explaining multiple times that we had an appointment, she insisted she couldn’t braid my hair that day and suggested I come the following day. As a healthcare worker with a tight schedule, this was impossible for me.

I even offered to wait until she finished with her current clients, despite having a pre-scheduled appointment. However, she stated she wouldn’t be finished until close to midnight. It seemed she had forgotten my appointment and continued to take other clients. Rather than apologizing for the major inconvenience caused to a loyal, long-time customer, she chose to hang up on me during our discussion.

This lack of accountability and professionalism is disheartening, especially considering I had referred several people to her business. While Fatou and her former niece (no longer working there) are/were skilled braiders, my experiences with her aunt, Mary, have been unsatisfactory, including instances of poor-quality braids. To make matters worse, the shop does not have a sanitary bathroom for clients

They are very efficient and quick 4 to 5 hours tops and I got a big head lol 😆 definitely friendly great pricing don't try to pick up your edges you'll still have them afterwards 😉 definitely a great braiding spot
