Just moved up the street from this location. My partner and I lost the keys to our uhaul, and needed to purchase a set of bolt cutters to remove the padlock. When we discussed why we were visiting with the lady behind the counter, she offered to let us borrow some cutters and return them at our leisure. All she needed was our name and a phone number. She then took me to some used cutters and offered me to choose which would suffice. Then it was just a matter of returning them when we werw finished. This honor system is almost unfounded in today's marketplace, so this really resonated with me. We also had a spare key made for our new place, which was done lickety split. Excellent service! Our daughter bought her first house (in need of much love, aka many repairs) nearby. We came to help but are from the West Coast so we had to buy all our tools in addition to supplies for plumbing, carpentry, electrical, gas lines, locks, paint, etc. The quality is better and more affordable than the closest Home Depot. The bonus, they know hardware and are super helpful. They loaned us a wheelbarrow for some quick trips and a hole saw for drilling holes for new door locks. This store is a gem and I hope that the locals treasure it. It's hard to find service like this in a big chain and it was nice not having to drive miles away to get needed parts. Been living in this town for 33 years and I ventured away to bigger chain stores such as Lowes or home Depot due to their warehouse size selection. Bahr Hardware is a much more intimate experience. The employees never let you just stare at a wall of water shut off valves not will they sell you something you don't need. Instead of spending money on a new valve the gentleman suggestions that I spend a fraction of the money and save myself time by just getting a new rubber washer. Fantastic, was done with my task in ten minutes and even better, I now know that I can just replace the washer on my shut off valve should I ever need to replace...
