Lane Bryant — Local services in Canton Township

WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS LOCATION!!! I have lived up the street from this lane Bryant location for over 5 years now and being a bigger girl blessed up top I shop here. I had always had a good experience here until this last one. I walked in and from the door, no one greeted me, I wanted to get a fitting and some help on picking out the bras like I always have in the past. It’s quite rude for a customer to walk in and no one speaks, no one offered to help me, yet there was 3 associates that I saw working that day and the store was not at all busy. I shopped by myself for about an hour, back and forth trying to find my size, the ENTIRE time I was there not ONE associate Ever said anything to me. There was one associate helping with a bra fitting so I can understand. For the two associates standing at the registers laughing and joking and carrying on a conversation I find it really rude that you work at such a place with no customer service skills. I wasn’t going to really think too much into the situation but when I saw two white ladies come in some time after me and receive help I then knew it had to be they didn’t want to speak to the “black” girl. That’s the only conclusion I can offer for this experience being that I was the only black Girl shopping and for an hour I never received any help, not even a welcome to lane Bryant when I stepped in the door, but magically when the white ladies came in everyone was Johnny on the spot. If I had time to go somewhere else that day I would have, but TRUST I will never spend another dollar of my hard earned money in this establishment to be treated as if I’m invisible. This is the best lady stores to shop at. Since Covid, all the stores you would normally shop at, are not the same, especially organized. Lane Bryant is the best store ever. Have you met the lady of the store? No, well, her name is Tammy!! Tammy has twice helped me with a whole new wardrobe. I have a whole new wardrobe of winter wear and evening wear. This week, she outfitted me with my summer wardrobe and for my trip to Florida. Her honesty for fashion is remarkable. If it didn’t look nice, she told me so, if she found me something that she knew would look fabulous, she plucked it up and had me try it on. I’m so grateful to Tammy. I always wore dark color clothing and she put colors, strips and flowers (I hate flowers) on me. I look fabulous and I knew I stood out. It’s a great feeling. My mom and all my friends said they love Tammy because she got me out of my comfort zone and I’m eternally grateful to her all she has done. Tammy has her crew there also to help in dressing you up, so please don’t think I’m dismissing the other ladies. Tammy was just my person (Grey’s Anatomy). I love Tammy and I can finally go out in clothing other than sweats, stretch pants, and T-shirts. I love my comfy clothing but I never wanted to go out with my friends because I only had this to wear or my funeral black dress with a different scarf. It’s so important to a woman to feel beautiful in her skin and on the outside. Tammy did that for me. I’m eternally grateful to this lady. She has a beautiful eye for fashion and a beautiful soul. Generally I love this store. Not many places for plus-sized women to buy gorgeous underwear, bras, and clothing. The staff is always super nice, super helpful and very courteous and understanding of the needs of their customers.

This location, however, pretty much NEVER has ANY bras in the size I am looking for. If I'm lucky, one out of every 12 visits will result in finding a bra my size...and it's not a "strange" or "specialtly" size either. In a plus-sized store - finding a bra to fit shouldn't be an issue. If I'm going to take the time out to drive to a physical location to shop for clothing - I shouldn't have to deal with being told to "shop online instead."

As for LB in general - they NEED to lower their prices. $80 for a pair of PAPER THIN jeans is just highway robbery.

update I was just at this location recently, and was treated very poorly by one of the sales associates. I was asking why they never seemed to carry my size in bras IN the store and her reply and her tone was very rude...and then when she said she was going in the back to check for something I heard her talking to another one of the associates about me, saying some very rude things. I did not appreciate that and left the store before she...
