The Home Place in Canton is the most wonderful store! Starting from when you first walk in and see beautiful bouquets of flowers or beautiful, unusual clothing, or smell the wonderful French milled soaps. This is the store you absolutely need but maybe never knew that you needed. I could honestly buy everything in the store! As you venture towards the back of the store, you’ll find incredible lotions, including gorgeous ones made from tallow. And then there is the store’s owner, Cher. After 10 minutes of meeting Cher you will become friends. She is just the kindest sweetest most fun store owner you will ever meet. Not only that, but the other people you meet in the store you’ll become friends with! And you’ll leave the store with a wonderful bag of goodies ranging from soaps to towels to lotions to blouses to notecards or books. And then you’ll wonder how you’ve never been in there. And you’ll be back each week to check out what new goodies Cher has. It’s the perfect place for a gift for that “hard to buy for” friend or the perfect place to buy...

I do not generally like shops that sell the “too cute tchotchkes” or clutter that just happens to match the curtains. This is NOT that shop. Cher has a true artist’s eye and an amazing variety. The selection is truly something for everyone and the prices are absolutely fair. Even if you’re not looking for anything special this little shop is a joyous way to spend a little time. There is something to discover in every corner and the people are wonderful- not one bit of pressure...
