Royal Caribbean Cruise - Independence of the Seas — Local services in Cape Canaveral

9-Night Spanish Flair Cruise, Sept. 10-19, 2025 departed Southampton, UK to Vigo, Spain, Lisbon, Portugal, Cádiz (Sevilla), La Coruna, Bilbao and returned to Southampton. We arrived a day early and stayed the night in port. Shared a cab w another couple to the pier (7 pounds.) Large, older ship, 4,000 passengers. Great weather w rough seas, Rockin and Rollin across the English Channel. Lots and lots to do while at sea and in ports. A wide variety of tasty offerings and libations to enjoy. Reggie, our cabin attendant was wonderful and meticulous. We enjoyed a variety of dinners in the main dining room and were ably served by ‘Klinton’, he was like our little brother you always wanted to have and catering to our every need. Several evenings we sat in the ‘Schooner Bar’, listening to affable piano-man ‘Perry Grant’, singing along, laughing aloud to his outrageous deliveries. So talented and he himself was having a wonderful time. We pre-booked the drink package ($1,400+) so the Pina coladas, the Margaritas, the Martinis, those Manhattans and wines we took great advantage of. All the staff we came in contact with were always very pleasant, courteous and always happy to see you. Most mornings we breakfasted at the ‘Windjammer’ and truly loved all the buffet combinations. The topside pools and hot tubs softened you up for more shipboard activities. ‘Grease’, the musical was great and the cast ably sung and danced with great ability. This was our second cruise w RC. This was our second holiday on Independence, and it was fantastic! The ship offers endless activities and top-notch entertainment, including comedians, dance and ice shows, interactive game shows, karaoke, quizzes, and live music. The musical Grease was quality, a must see!! The kids loved the water slides, hot tubs, flow rider and pools…. And the pool side snacks! The staff were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to meet our needs. Our room steward, Sang, was exceptional, always ready to assist us. We dined in the main restaurant every evening, which quickly became our favorite part of the day. Our two kids loved trying new dishes from the menu, and the service was impeccable. Our waiters, Darby and Lalu, took great care of us, remembering our drink preferences and always providing extra ice (which we asked for on the first night) without us even needing to ask. Those thoughtful little touches made a lasting impression. We took a 5 day cruise on Independence of the Seas. It was a smaller ship than we normally take but the dates worked for us. We booked 2 excursions, A Taste of Royal on board, and a Salsa excursion in Cozumel. Both were so much fun and the Taste of Royal was absolutely delicious. The staff on board was excellent. Millicent & Rian in Casino Royal were amazing in helping us figure out our points and getting us our cocktails! (LOL!) as members. Our first night at dinner we were seated next to the bussing station, we were not pleased. Romeo, the host was kind to move us to a window seat that were kept for the rest of the cruise. We had the best servers ever! Williani (call me Willie :) ) And Mark from (Philly :)) were amazing! They knew exactly what we wanted and made it right everytime. Most of all I want to THANK our room attendant Bahrullah for everything. He made sure our stay was absolutely perfect even with a little hiccup on our first night. Can't wait to go...
