Just had a ridiculous experience at about eleven today. Took a little filigree ring to get a broken prong fixed put in and a moonstone set in it, since I love moonstone. The man speaking to me today spent the entire conversation talking down to me about the cost without quoting a number, somehow seeing fit to lecturing me about wanting to buy a house with a ridiculous budget as if he'd already decided I couldn't afford a small repair. I would have had no problem getting the whole ring repronged, I've had that done twice here. It's just that whenever I do the prongs always come back an obviously different color than the rest of the ring and that's aesthetically disappointing.
I've been here on five previous occasions for jewelry repair because their results were adequate and turnaround was quick. But this place apparently doesn't handle custom work or softer stones well? At least without one having to sit through rude drivel. Here's a free tip to the establishment, since you seem preoccupied with the cost of things: cut the condescension and just quote a number and let the customer decide if it's worth it.
Avoid if you have something that requires more finess than diamond, which they handled previously without complaints. What a disappointment, but happy to take my business elsewhere if I don't have to deal with interactions like that again.
In regards to your response: You didn't take my ring in for repair because of your own poor attitude and judgement of me. I don't understand why I had to endure a lecture from you about cost, when I just wanted to drop it off and get the work done when you. You decided it was too expensive before even giving me an estimate of the cost, without letting me decide if the cost was within my means.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreāļøOkay, let me start by saying I love my gold. Iām constantly taking my momās old gold jewelry, buying old gold from estate sales, or buying gold online or in a shopāļø
have had a total of three items that needed repair, a 14k bracelet bangle and two 10k gold rings. I used to go to these two jewelry repair shops in Lehigh (I wonāt be petty and say the names), but they would take a week just to make the smallest repair. I mean the repairs would be as small as a grain of salt and it would take him a full week before I could get my jewelry back. I discovered the Gulf Coast Jewelry & Loan shop and walked in. For one, it smells good and things are organized. Two, the staff greets you with a smile. Three, while youāre waiting, youāll immediately notice the regulars who come in and feel good about going in for repairs or to purchase something new.
THE BIGGGEST THING FOR ME IS: I WALKED IN AND NOT EVEN FOUR HOURS LATER MY REPAIR WAS DONE! Not to mention the 14 karat bracelet/bangle that i mentioned bringing in, They repaired it so well that I didnāt realize how seamless The bracelet NOW looked. The two rings, well I needed them resized and you know to have an overall seamless look. So you guessed it!! they did everything fast and seamless! Iām telling you, Iām not going anywhere else for repairs. I donāt care if I live in Lehigh, you better believe Iām putting my jewelry repairs on my calendar and Iām driving my behind over here!! (The onyx ring is the one of the rings that were resized and the monogram...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was so very lucky to find this jeweler in Fort Myers, Florida! I needed a battery replaced on my Charriol watch so I took it to several jewelers and none of them wanted to do it because they were not familiar with the brand name. I had given up on ever being able to wear my favorite watch again. Then, one day while getting my vacuum cleaner annual maintenance done, I asked the repairman if he knew of a jeweler that knows how to replace watch batteries on all brands of watches. He told me that he only trusts Gulf Coast Jewelry and Loan to repair his jewelry and put batteries in his watch. I immediately went there and they were able to change the battery on my watch. I was thrilled that I could now wear my favorite watch again! They are good and honest people that donāt rip you off like the large, expensive jewelry stores. Melissa at the counter is a delight to talk to. She helped me today to get an earring fixed that I thought was a lost cause. I will continue to use them from now on, and I hope...
