Village Bicycle Shop — Local services in Cape May

We were referred to Village Bicycle Shop after another shop had run out of bikes. What a great bike shop! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. One person in our group was worried about riding with a bad hip and the staff member took the time to find and put aside a 3 speed that would help with her rehab. We rented three bikes for 2 weeks and he promptly dropped them off at our house on Cape May Point--no charge. One of the bikes got a flat. After a quick phone call, they were there to pick it up in no time AND left a replacement bike until the tire could be changed! At the end of our 2 weeks, the truck picked them up for return, and staff asked about our vacation and how the bikes had worked out for us. That is true customer service! I’m now a customer for life. While biking, I had a problem with my Cannondale bike. I looked for a bike shop in the area and found Village Bike Shop. I took my bike over and they couldn’t have been nicer. They test-rode the bike and immediately saw the problem with it. They asked if I could leave it until the next morning when the mechanic would be in. I did. The next morning, they called and said the bike was ready for pick up. The repair was EXTREMELY fair priced (actually cheap) and the mechanic had me test-ride it to check it out to see if it was riding ok, which it was. Everyone was very helpful. today I went on a 40 mile bike ride with my friend. I got a flat going over the cape may bridge and luckily, I know how to change the flat on my own. THANK GOD I didn't have to bring it in to get fixed, because that wouldn't have happened. I had a problem after I fixed it and I knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. I stopped in the shop to ask if I could borrow a stand to fix it on my own and they said no. okay, that's fine I respect that. but afterwards they got nasty and arrogant with me and looked down at me as if I had no clue what I was doing. they treated me with no respect and saw that I was a teenager and treated me as they would a child. never stop here for help if you're in the...
