I love Anthropologie, I especially love going into the store to shop. Usually, the sales reps on the floor will take the clothes you collect and go open a fitting room. I'm not sure what's happened over the past couple of years, but this wasn't the case going in on Saturday, October 12th around 11am PST. The women in the dressing room were sooo helpful and very sweet. They helped me figure out an outfit to wear for an upcoming occasion. Everything was fine and dandy, but once I got into the checkout line, things started to change. When I was called up to the counter, the woman (Sales Associate: 348841) start off nice. She started ringing up my chosen items, and when I saw the price for a top (that I would only wear once) I was surprised and asked her to remove the item. I didn't look at the price beforehand but realized I didn't eat to purchase an expensive ($129) top to just sit in my closet. Her mood shifted, but she continued scanning. I then let her know I had my birthday discount that I'd like to use on the clothing items, additionally, I had picked a candle for a gift. The candle was selected as 20% off as well, but the cashier insisted to let me know that somehow.. this candle.. would be final sale. Final Sale. I was so confused as to why she would feel the need to tell me something that was't true. It was not a sales item. I was already getting pissed off with her. I just wanted to use my birthday discount one the clothes. I wasn't trying to steal the candle by using an additional discount. She grabbed the phone out of my hand starts scrolling to "verify" my code. It was so unbelievable, I wish I was making this up. Telling me that I would't be able to use my friggin code, and this isn't the first time this place would do this on my birthday discount. She then slide my phone on that rough counter, scratching my camera lenses. I'm paying for my things, she bags my stuff, purposely excluding the piece that started all this.. the candle!! No wrapping, no tape, just left it on the counter as if it were a go back item. I had to blatantly ask her to please put tape on it so the lid wouldn't get lost.
I'm so bothered by her actions and attitude. The sales reps are so nice, getting you to spend hundreds of dollars. But continue to be unbelievably rude and have this persona as if they ow the clothing chain!! Are they investors of the store?? Why do they accuse everyone that goes in as a thief. Some of these women somehow believe they are entitled to work at this retail store making minimum wage. It's almost a power trip for them as they stand behind that counter. Makes them look so stupid and makes you feel like you're wrong for even purchasing...
Read moreAmid the Zombie apocalypse we are still weathering, it was a welcome relief to experience a taste of our past lives with the reopening of Anthropologie! They went above and beyond to ensure patron's shopping experience was enjoyable as it was safe. Although, and expected, masks were required, the store was clean and beautifully appointed. Dressing rooms were sanitized after each guest. Colorful tape was carefully laid out to maintain social distancing while waiting in their longer than usual check out lines as they only had attendants doing check out. Plexiglass separated patron from attendant and the entire check out area was disinfected between each transaction. Anyone who has any reservations about their well being should use their own judgement but clearly Anthropologie has gone above and beyond to ensure a pleasant shopping experience while taking every opportunity to maintain the highest sanitation and social distancing. Lastly all the store employees were, as always, so incredibly pleasant and seemed genuinely pleased that their patrons had come back! To maintain safety standards their level of assistance is limited as they try to minimize "contact" with the patrons, thus retrieving a different size while trying on clothing, etc. is not offered at this time. Patrons can ask the check out clerks if a particular size is available via them checking their computer for in stock or online inventories. Crazy times for sure, but impressed and grateful Anthropologie was able to offer a shopping experience that provided a welcome temporay escape from all the...
Read moreWe made an appointment to look at wedding dresses at 9:30 so we get there around 9:25 and knock on the door. The person barely opens the door and says we are closed. We say we have an appointment at 9:30 and she said well then what’s your name we told it and she said she had to escort us back to the dresses because they are still closed. We then were introduced to the person that was going to help us. We put our stuff down in an area and we’re told we couldn’t put our stuff there even though no one else was there. Then the first thing the person that was going to help us said was well you only have an hour you should get in the dressing home right now. Without even looking at any dresses. We then tried to look at dresses and were told she only has an hour she has to get in the dressing room now. This continues for the entire time. And with 15 minutes left she told us we couldn’t try on any other dresses and that we had to start getting ready to go, when this would really only take 5 minutes and that there was still no one there. We then were reluctant to buy a dress because of this but she found one she liked so we were going to. We bought it and tried to return something else that we bought here and she said we had to go do it when they open then the manager heard and said no you can do it now. We then paid and had to get escorted out of the store because they still weren’t open. This was the worst experience for us especially when trying to buy a wedding dress which should be...
