My experience at Ulta in Carlsbad. Terrible customer service and no filter. I am coming in after a hards days work to return a purchase I made online by accident as well purchase what I really needed prior to my vacation which is in the same week. As I come in with my return purchase I was kindly waiting to get the attention of the customer rep or the manager that was working that night so I can explain my situation. When not even a min later someone acknowledges me and said “ do you need help” at which some random person came up from behind me and started explaining there problem. I am just standing there waiting for them to say something to me. Mind you there were two customer service reps one being the lead or manager staring and listing to this random person. After listening to her problem. I decided to interject and say I have a question. At which she tells me to head over to the register to return my item. After returning my item I when ahead to do my purchases I still need for my vacation. When a random women comes up to me and asks me for some product to which I have no knowledge of and explained I am not a sales rep I am a medical assistant who office uniform is all black. She finally noticed my mask of where I work and moves on. Once I was done finding what I needed I headed over to the register to be rung up. When I hear a conversation between the girls laughing amongst them selfs saying “ Hey so and so I can so see you out in the back taking vitals and taking blood pressure” hahaha see should add that to our service here. Hahahaha”. I was shocked it seem like that customer complain of our interaction so the girls saw it fit to have a laugh. As soon as they saw me. These girls where quite and all of a sudden professional. I came to this place knowing they had more to offer in items. I had to come back in to get it fixed and the manager said I wasn’t the only one who came back. She completely botched my hair. For $100 and a “master stylist” title I expected better.
The visit was a complete nightmare from start to finish. My appointment lasted a total of 30 minutes and she was 15 minutes late. My scalp hurt since she was so rough yanking my hair when washing it. She rushed through the entire cut while blabbing on about how much she didn’t want to be there and couldn’t wait to leave.
The manager that fixed my hair took one look when I came in and was appalled. She did her best to fix it, hence the two stars. However, I will not be returning to Ulta. Take your money elsewhere to a real salon where you will be treated with professionalism instead of immaturity.
EDIT: Came here again with my sister the other day. Ladies in the makeup department were unprofessional and standoffish. My sister and I came in to get her color checked. We looked around for a bit to find someone to help and an employee pointed us over to two employees chatting in another aisle. We approached them and they just looked at us. Didn’t saying. Didn’t offer to help. They seemed annoyed we were asking them for help. Eventually the taller blonde woman reluctantly ended her conversation with the other brunette employee (this employee had an egregious amount of red blush and bronzer and foundation on her cheeks 🤡) to help my sister.
Weird experience overall. Lots of reviews about poor customer service and they all hold true. Don’t come to this location....
Read moreDominique has done my hair numerous times and I feel like after seeing her for over a year now it was the best time to leave her a review. Sometimes you can go to a hairstylist a few times and have it be great the first time but then off the subsequent visits. Dom is so consistent she always does an amazing job on my hair. I never feel rushed out of the door and I always feel truly listened to and heard when describing my vision. She always makes a point to tell me exactly what to expect if I come in with a photo of hair color and how she can get me that result but for the health of my hair (hello brunette to heavy blonde highlights) it may take more than one visit. I appreciate that she cares about the health of my hair and her ability to communicate all of the things shes doing and why. I love that she revisits my hair cut after shes dried my hair and really takes care to be sure everything looks perfect. Shes easy to talk to and I have never been able to catch her in what seems like a bad day, shes always really positive and kind. I highly recommend her, she also is amazing at physically walking with me into the aisles to point out the products so I can achieve the look at home and care for my hair....
